Nicole Scherzinger is said to be ‘heartbroken’ but definitely sure that she won’t be back on the X Factor this year.

The Pussycat Doll was reportedly offered a spot on the judging panel for 2014, but has decided to turn down Simon Cowell’s request, so she can concentrate on her new music.

The brunette beauty has definitely neglected her singing career during her time on the ITV show and hasn’t released any new tunes since she joined the lineup in 2012.

Insiders claim Nicole ‘agonised’ over offers made by ITV – which are rumoured to include a rather large pay rise – but in the end told show bosses she wouldn’t be taking part as a judge and mentor for the 2014 series.

A source told The Sun that the star told execs she has to ‘focus on her music’ after putting it ‘on hold’ last year.

It’s said that Simon was keen to have Nicole’s return confirmed, worried that Cheryl Cole’s comeback could still fall through. The Girls Aloud star is thought to be in continuing negotiations with the team but hasn’t yet inked the deal which will see her judging on the singing show for the first time in three years.

The music mogul is also thought to be pursuing Rita Ora as a possible mentor and has also had preliminary talks with former judge Dannii Minogue.

Many X Factor fans will be upset by this morning’s news, however this is what we wanted and expected to hear from Nicole this year.

The stunner hasn’t released any new music since her debut solo album Killer Love in 2011 and really, she couldn’t credibly mentor and advise new music stars, when she only has one record of her own on the shelves.

Also, Scherzinger has an immense talent. When she sang with Sam Bailey on the X Factor final she was accused of putting the mum of two in the shade and with a voice like Sam’s that really isn’t easy.

Nic has the vocal talents to match divas such as Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, yet, to date, she’s traded more on her looks and smoking hot body to gain attention and profile. The star has won more awards for her style and figure than she has for her music and talent and perhaps now’s the time for her to make a change.

It’s key that Nicole gets the right material though. She’s in the studio now working on some new tunes….. here’s hoping it’s as good as we’re expecting.

Have a listen to Nicole Scherzinger at her best and leave your comments below….

Lisa has been watching reality TV for too long now. She won't do any housework unless 'Big Brother' announces it over the tannoy and everything she does has to be put to a public vote!

Last I knew Rita Ora doesn’t like music competition shows she has talked bad about them and said she never be apart of one. But I suppose money talks so maybe she will. I rather see Cheryl Cole as a judge. As for Nicole thank u thank u for not being apart of the show anymore. But if she thinks she is gonna have a successful music career ya I dont think so she hasnt done well the last 3 times she has attempted her solo career. Well at least not on this side the pond idk about there.

Nicole is way better than Cheryl Cole in every way. She has proved that she can sing time and time again and I thought she was a good mentor. It was her idea to put One Direction together, even though Simon takes the credit but if you watch the episodes when they were selecting you will see it was Nicole’s idea and Simon and Louis agreed. I definitely won’t be watching anymore. This programme is becoming a joke. Simon still trying to get his leg over I see.
