X Factor’s Olly Murs was the last finalist to make his trip home this week and last night he flew into Essex in Simon Cowell’s helicopter.

Earlier in the week Joe and his mentor Cheryl visited South Shields, Stacey and Dannii visited Daganham and yesterday Olly and Simon hit Olly’s old school, Notley High in Braintree.

An onlooker told The Sun: “Olly got a massive round of applause from the crowd. The teachers got so into it they started dancing.

“Simon told the kids the head had promised they didn’t have to do any homework – that got a big laugh.”
