Olly Murs promises a BIG TWIST on next week’s X Factor live show
The X Factor live shows start next week and tonight, Dermot O’Leary announced that viewers should expect some sort of twist when it all kicks off.
Xtra Factor host Olly Murs confirmed the news on his Facebook page this evening and told his followers:
FINAL 16!!! So happy i can talk about it now!!! PLUS BIG TWIST NEXT WEEK!! what do you think it is???x
So what do you think it might be?
Last year the judges introduced wildcards for their twist, each bringing back one contestant to join the live show lineup and make the final 12 a final 16. It led to the comeback of Wagner, Paije Richardson, Treyc Cohen and Diva fever.
However, we don’t think this will be the case in 2011, as we already have 16 contestants and surely 20 would be way too many…..unless they start double eliminations of course.
We’re feeling a bit drained and all X Factored out this evening, so we’d love to hear your thoughts and predictions about what the twist might be in the comments section below.

yep john and jade deserve to come back, i know its doubtful that they will bring back wild cards as there is already 16 through, i have heard that they are planning a three hour show next weekend compared to last years 2 1/2 hr long first live show, sooo maybe just maybe…..

As the series will only run for about 12 weeks, I think that they need to get rid of some now. Could it be that the ones with lowest vote score within each group next week would have to leave? That would eliminate 4 acts, leaving 12 to go through? Just a thought !!

Firstly i have to say that Kelly is a complete muppet for not putting Jade through!
I think the twist will either be Cheryl coming back with some of the ones sent home OR they will bring back 1 contestant that was sent home to join each group and have a double elimination!
The twist better be to bring back Joe and Jade…
A Wildcard choice expanding to 20 contestants is obnoxious, there is NO WAY that a single judge that would have the capacity to mentor 5 acts…..too much pressure, plus tabloids are getting on my nerves.

I think they will change the judges’ categories. After the Top 16 introduction, they told it was going to be a twist and then we saw each judge talking how their categories is amazing.

The twist is that the ones with talent, John, jade, Melanie, lascel, Luke, get through after all, and it’s all been just a bad dream. Or not. Someone give them a recording contract and make sure they release a Christmas single….ex X Factors …

I personally think its simon coming back. Whether its with a US category or not is another question. But if it is then i can see them letting the US vote
Isn’t Cheryl going to do “The Voice” for BBC1? If she appears as a surprise fifth Judge on the X-Factor wouldn’t that have contract implications?
Bring back Luke Lucas
It has to be a Simon wildcard. Luke Lucas has had more airtime throughout this series, he also had more airtime this weekend and he got dropped. He was in all the newspapers today and all the tv shows were talking about Luke, rather than who got through. My guess is that Luke Lucas will be back? His audition was superb.
