Olly Murs wants to replace Steve Jones on X Factor USA
Olly Murs has admitted that he would love to take over the presenters role on The X Factor USA.
The former X Factor UK runner up will be in America this summer, as he supports One Direction on their series of sell out concerts and with all his experience of hosting ITV2′s The Xtra Factor, he thinks he would be the perfect choice as Steve Jones replacement on the stateside series.
Murs thinks US audiences would love his cheeky nature and told The Daily Star:
“I think Simon Cowell should ring me up. I’ll be the new host, no problem. I had a great time when I did it in the UK.
“I bet they’re going to get an American, someone like Ryan Seacrest.
“He’ll warm the audience up for me to come over and do it.”
Murs was a surprise hit when he fronted The Xtra Factor with Caroline Flack last year, so much so that Simon Cowell is permitting him to miss the audition stages this year and return to the live shows, when his touring commitments come to and end.
The Essex born singer is hoping to make a bit of a career for himself in America in the meantime and admitted:
“I’m trying to forge a career in America.”
The X Factor UK auditions kick off this Wednesday in Liverpool, with Geri Halliwell joining Gary Barlow, Tulisa and Louis Walsh at the judges table.

What an embarrassment. Crap music, ugly. I don’t know why Cowell pushes this numpty so much. Most over-exposed act ever to come from The X Factory. Just proof that people really will buy anything that they are told to, even if it’s rubbish. Cringing at the thought of people actually singing along to his ‘music’. It’s dire. Sid Owen-esque. Oh, and he’s also a very strange looking chap indeed. Something has gone amiss.
