The Sun reports that only Liam Payne – along with his girlfriend Danielle Peazer – remained in the VIP Louder Lounge, while Louis, Harry, Niall and Zayn sought refuge inside their own tent.

Liam said, “Yeah, we were mobbed a bit by the girls. The rest have gone off.”

However, another former X Factor star, Aiden Grimshaw, had a great time, downing beers in the sun and enjoying the music.

Aiden, who performed live at Chelmsford yesterday, told the paper, “People keep asking me about my so-called celebrity lifestyle…

“The other night I sat watching Harry Potter and eating chicken.

“I munched on beans on toast while the Olympic closing ceremony was on.”

Aiden, whose debut album Misty Eye is out tomorrow, added, “I’ve done a few gigs but V is the biggest thing to date.

“The only festival in Blackpool celebrates steam engines.

“I tried to convince my mum to come with me to V but she backed out.”
