One Direction 2012: 1D will perform snippets of Kiss You in X Factor ad breaks tonight! (VIDEOS)

Fans of X Factor will of course know that when the show goes to – and comes back from – ad breaks, we see viewers singing along to hit songs as part of the Talk Talk media campaign…

But in tonight’s Talk Talk idents, we’ll see the One Direction lads, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, putting their famous heads into the TV screens that we see dancing around on-screen.

Little Mix stars Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh Anne Pinnock did the same while singing bits of their hit, DNA.

Tristia Clarke, who is the commercial director at TalkTalk, said of the videos, “Our customers tell us One Direction are their all-time favourite X Factor act…

“So we’re thrilled they’re appearing in our idents tonight.”

The paper adds, “Telecoms giant TalkTalk has a three year sponsorship deal with the X Factor worth about £25million.

“The firm also revealed it had been swamped with 70,000 applications from customers via its Facebook page for tickets to this year’s final in Manchester on the weekend of 8/9th December.”

And here are the lads performing their parts for the idents…

Other 1D news today is that their new album, Take Me Home has become the fourth British recording of 2012 to take the top spot in the American Billboard charts.

Here’s what Reuters had to say about the news…

“Take Me Home” notched the third-biggest opening week sales of the year with 540,000 units sold according to figures from Nielsen SoundScan, placing it behind only Mumford & Son’s “Babel” and Taylor Swift’s “Red,” which had the year’s biggest opening with 1.2 million copies sold.

It marked the first time a British band have seen their first two albums debut at the top of the US Billboard 200 chart. One Direction’s first album “Up All Night” shot to the top of the chart with 176,000 copies in March this year.

The lead single from “Take Me Home,” “Live While We’re Young” also made Billboard chart history after selling 341,000 copies in its first week, becoming the biggest opening week single sales for a non-US artist.

One Direction – who were formed on the X Factor, and placed third in the competition – were able to trump a new release from pop star and “The Voice” judge Christina Aguilera, who debuted at No 7 with her fifth studio album “Lotus,” selling 73,000 copies.

Well done 1D!
