Yesterday, on one of the best days we’ve had this summer, One Direction took Party in the Park – which was held at Temple Newsham in Leeds, West Yorkshire – by storm, playing to a screaming crowd of thousands!

And despite worries about the boys’ security – which had even seen their security team planning on smuggling them into the backstage area of the venue dressing animal costumes so as to avoid fans chasing them.

Earlier this month, a source close to 1D’s security team told the Daily Star, “No stone is being left unturned [and] we are considering every viable option to avoid the lads getting absolutely overwhelmed by their fanatical fans.”

However, it all went like clockwork, and of course, a number of X Factor stars were also playing at the live concert, including Alexandra Burke and Little Mix, which gave Zayn Malik his longed for chance to spend more time with girlfriend Perrie Edwards…

Of Little Mix, the Sun states, “Jesy rocked a fierce pair of spiked boots and tartan trousers, and Leigh-Anne showed off her toned physique in ripped denim shorts, a white crop top and trainers.”

But somewhat bizarrely, Alexandra Burke chose to wear Doc Martens with a summer dress…
