One Direction 2012: Despite his £10 million bonus Niall Horan thinks Simon Cowell is tight!
Niall Horan has joked that his boss Simon Cowell is ‘tight’ with money.
The One Direction singer and his bandmates received a £10 million bonus to be split between them recently, after sales of their album, singles and concert tickets made a fortune for their record label SYCO, however the Irish star thinks the X Factor boss is still holding back.
Niall joked that Simon likes to pay the 1D boys in ‘jelly beans’ and teased:
“Simon Cowell is tight. That’s why he’s so successful – he’s able to keep his money to himself. We’re paid in jelly beans.”
£2 million worth of jelly beans it would seem…..we’d rather have the cash ourselves!
The boys have already started making investments with their new fortune, with Harry Styles buying a London apartment and a car but they are determined to earn an even bigger cut of the pie when their next album is released, because Niall, Harry, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik want some song writing credits to their name also.
Liam told The Sun:
“We did watch The Beatles’ movie A Hard Day’s Night recently and it was funny to see things they did that are similar to us.”
Harry added: “We’re always writing on the road and in hotels and airports.
“We don’t ever want our music to sound like a 40-year-old man in an office has written it and given it to us to perform.”
That’s Savan Kotecha told!
One Direction have just finished their tour down under, concluding with three concerts in New Zealand last weekend. They will return home ot London this week and the homecoming can’t come fast enough for Liam Payne and Louis Tomlison who are both missing their girlfriends badly.
Payne tweeted his girlfriend Danielle Peazer yesterday, to tell her how much he was looking forward to seeing her again.
Meanwhile Louis has also been showing some Twitter love to his girlfriend Eleanor Calder, after online fans mounted a hate campaign against her at the weekend.
They had better make the most of their few weeks at home, as next month the boys will be jetting off to America again, for their first ever sell out US arena tour.
