One Direction 2012: Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik & Louis Tomlinson celebrate their second anniversary with fans!
One Direction are two years old…let’s have a party!
The lads were formed exactly two years ago yesterday – July 23rd – at the 2010 X Factor bootcamp by Nicole Scherzinger, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh who all saw something special in Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik & Louis Tomlinson.
After all five lads entered the competition on a solo basis and even though Louis’ vocals were slightly dodgy and Zayn refused to dance, the judges saw something worth taking a chance on and asked the singers to come together and form a boyband.
1D went on to finish the series in third place and since have become world famous, topping charts and playing sell out concerts all over the globe….Not bad for a bunch of teenagers eh?
Harry knows that it’s the band’s fans that deserve most the thanks, as there has rarely been a more dedicated group of followers as the Directioners and he took to Twitter this morning to write:
‘Can’t believe yesterday was two years since we’ve been together. Thank you guys for everything you’ve done for us since then, We love you .x’
Niall Horan added:
‘Guys its been 2 years today since we were formed, its been incredible so far, its all down to you guys! Love you all soo much ! Thank you’
‘Great weekend of shows, enjoyed it soo much! Couldnt stop smiling, back in london, big day tomorrow! #2yearsOf1D ,love you all ,night night’
Zayn Malik said:
‘Wow 2years, what an amazing journey and its all down to you guys. Thank you, sending my love to you all #2yearsof1d’
While Louis raved:
‘Can’t believe we have been together two years already. Thank you so much to anyone and everyone who have helped us along the way!’
Can you believe it’s been a whole 24 months since 1D were formed? Where would we be without Larry Stylinson, carrots and Harry’s penchant for cougars? Leave your messages of congratulation for the boys below…

U guys r amazing u have mace it through good and bad and never gave up. U were consistant and ignored all the haters. i love harry he’s my fav out of all of the guys but i still love the band!! And harry, if you are reading this i know that a lot of people ae calling you names and saying that they hate you but you shouldn’t let that get to you you only live once so you should get mad or upset at what people say about you that’s what i do because i get picked on about my red gourgeous hair, and i’m just saying this because i’m a fan but because i want you to know that youre a great and amazing and a compasionet guy!!!! hope you and the rest of the guys have a great and amazing tour on the road and have fun being together as a group!!!! Nial Harry Louis zayn nd Liam u guys r the best u have completed so much in 24 months nd u have stolen so many hearts along u’r way I just want to tell u tht us directioners will always be there for u wenever u need us !!!!
