The One Direction boys have finally confirmed what has been rumoured for weeks, they will be appearing on The X Factor Australia.

We reported last month that the teen idols had met up with former Byzone star and X Factor judge Ronan Keating in London recently and assisted him as he whittled down his last hopefuls.

The Irish star had to send half his groups home and put the rest through to the live shows and insiders say Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson took a break from recording their second album to assist Ronan for his final audition stage, which was held at a venue in Camden.

In the clip below 1D are featured promoting the show and we love how funny Harry is…..though we have no idea what’s screaming about. It sounds like he’s shouting ’7′, which we can only assume relates to Channel 7 on which the programme airs down under.

One Direction have a massive Australian fanbase, after performing at a series of sell out concerts in the country earlier this year. The lads will return in 2013 for more gigs but until then, fans in Oz can look forward to spotting them on The X Factor in autumn 2012.
