Harry Styles’ mum has admitted that she found it difficult to cope when her famous son moved out of home.

Ann Cox probably thought she had years of looking after the teenage singer in the family residence, until he entered The X Factor, joined One Direction and became famous all at the age of 16.

These days Harry is touring the world with his 1D bandmates and while his mother has gotten used to him being out of her reach, she admitted that she didn’t always find it easy.

The 44 year old beauty told Now magazine:

‘It was just the two of us. I went through a very hard time when his sister [Gemma] left for university – it was like I was going through empty nest syndrome.’

‘I was alone in the house with Harry for a year so we got even closer.

‘When he left, a similar thing happened. It was a weird feeling.’

However, Ann says it’s easier than ever to keep up with her sons whereabouts and actions these days, as he is followed so closely by photographers.

She laughed:

‘But now I can just walk into a newsagent to see a picture of him.’

One Direction are performing in their American tour currently and tomorrow night, they will leave Canada and take to the stage in Mexico City, Mexico.

Later in the week they will grace San Diego, Las Vegas and Phoenix.
