It can get boring hanging around a concert venue for hours and hours, as you wait for roadies to set up and kill the time between rehearsals and gigs, but One Direction have found a solution.

Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne are in the middle of their first ever headline tour of America and have some novel ways of passing all the time that they spend together in dressing rooms.

The X Factor stars have taken inspiration from mobile app Fruit Ninja and created their own, real life and slightly dangerous version of the online game.

Zayn Malik revealed their antics in a recent interview, telling The Daily Record:

‘Don’t try this at home….’

‘Basically, you throw the fruit in the air and cut it in half.’

The fearsome fivesome are planning to perfect their skills and the game when they take to the road in their UK arena tour in early 2013 and it seems that they are never short of props either.

Liam Payne added:

‘Every dressing room we go in seems to have a chopping board, a knife and a bowl of fruit.’

It’s almost like it was fate!
