One Direction are probably the hottest property on the planet right now, and everyone who’s anyone wants to either be seen with the boys, or write music for them, and today, we have news on both counts!

First, Justin Bieber has told the Daily Star that he and the 1D lads, Harry, Liam, Zayn, Louis and Niall, have agreed to meet up to play soccer – which of course to us Brits is football – and he added that he’s hoping to talk David Beckham into joining them for a kick about too!

Justin said, “I’ve been playing a lot of soccer over the last two or three years; I’ve been really enjoying it.

“The One Direction guys said that they’ll play, and I am going to personally ask David myself.

“And I’m really hoping he will say yes.”

In other 1D news, Scouting For Girls front man Roy Stride has revealed to The Razz that he’s penned a few tracks for One Direction, as have a number of other musicians of course.

Stating that X Factor guru Simon Cowell “snapped up” his songs, Roy added, “I saw One Direction on X Factor and instantly knew they were gonna be huge…

“So I started writing a couple of tracks for them straight away. We’re both under Sony so I passed them to their management and A&R team.”

He added, “A couple of weeks later, I got an email back from Simon Cowell saying he loved the tracks.”

And of the 1D boys, Roy said, “We met them in a studio in London when they came to record the track.

“They were really lovely guys and you could tell they would be having a lot of a fun whatever happened…

“At that point, I don’t think anyone guessed they were going to be as big as they have become.”

Oo I don’t know about that Roy – they’ve had a solid group of fans from the get go, and they never doubted 1D would be a huge success.
