There’s good news for One Direction fans today as Liam Payne has revealed that celebrity gossip columnist Perez Hilton couldn’t have been more wrong in his prediction that 1D will split up…

And during an interview with Top of the Pops magazine, Liam added that a career in music as solo artists would be “massively boring” so none of the 1D lads are going to go there.

In case you hadn’t heard what Perez said, he recently told Sugarscape, “I would not be surprised if One Direction break up in the next couple of years.”

He added, “I think ultimately one of them will quit or get fired, they’ll continue on as a foursome and then not too long after – maybe a year or two – they’ll break up…”

In response to the remarks, the interviewer for TOTP asked Liam if he – or any of the boys – had ever considered going solo, to which he replied, “Erm, not really.”

He added, “I think it would be massively, massively boring! I don’t know how Justin Bieber does it, but full props to him.

“I like being around the boys. I enjoy other people’s company and it’s a lot more fun being in a band on stage.”
