While Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik are at home in the UK (and Ireland) and spending time with their friends and family, Louis Tomlinson did not return to England after his band’s recent US tour.

After the month long series of concerts, the handsome singer was pictured touching down in Nice airport this week and his mum confirmed that he and girlfriend Eleanor Calder were taking a romantic break in France.

The photo of the lovebirds showed a very relaxed looking Eleanor, who modelled large sunglasses, a baggy jumper, skinny jeans and loosely pinned hair. Tomlinson looked just as laid back as he walked through the airport in his beanie hat, white trainers and loose fitting t shirt.

It seems that both the singer and the student were delighted to finally be getting a break from the glare of the spotlight and the chance to spend some quality time alone together, without Louis’ four best pals.

We would have expected Louis’ family to be slightly miffed that he didn’t come straight home to see them, but his mother insisted that she’s glad he;s getting some downtime and tweeted:

“I want my boy to have the rest he deserves! I’m seeing him very soon! X x.”

Meanwhile, while his friend kicks back in France, Niall is causing quite the furore in Ireland.

The 1D hunk touched down in Dublin yesterday, as he returned to Mullingar to his nearest and dearest, however he used a string of swear words when addressing a group of his waiting fans, who then posted the video online. You can watch the clip here.

Elsewhere, Zayn has been car shopping this week and though it was first thought that the £32,000 motor he purchased was for him and girlfriend Perrie Edwards, it has since been reported that he was buying the vehicle for his dad.

Harry Styles took the band’s stylist for a spot of house hunting, as it seems that his London apartment may not be plush and impressive enough for him any longer.

Despite the fact that they’re on holiday, it’s been a busy week for the band.
