One Direction 2012: Niall Horan explains ‘Live While We’re Young’ rush release and reveals how he ended up shirtless!
Niall Horan has revealed how he and his One Direction bandmates felt, when they discovered that their new single had been leaked online.
Last Thursday, just as the lads were sound checking for the iTunes festival, they were informed that one minute of their newest song ‘Live While We’re Young’ had been leaked online. After a bit of a frenzy, the band’s management – who had been planning to premiere the official music video today – brought forward the first radio play and video launch to Thursday night.
Speaking on Kyle and Jackie O’s Australian radio show, Horan confessed that they found the whole thing a bit upsetting and explained:
We were all at the iTunes festival, sitting around having dinner when someone came in and told us that the song had been leaked. We were kind of upset because it was only four days away from the real one but it would have been a lot worse if it was 2 or 3 weeks before that.
It wasn’t that hard, all the radio guys and us pulled together and we made it happen and we pulled everything we were going to do on the day of release to that day.
It wasn’t too bad but it was a bit annoying that the fans got to hear a crap online version first.
‘Live While We’re Young’ will be followed by 1D’s second album ‘Take Me Home’, which is set for release this November. Soon after they will put out a second single from the record but Niall revealed that they haven’t picked which one yet. He added:
‘We’re in the middle of that now, we’re torn between a couple of sings but we’re not sure which ones we want to go with.’
One of the highlights of the LWWY video for many fangirls, was when Niall got his shirt off for the cameras. He insisted that the topless scenes were definitely not planned and said:
“They threw me into the pool and my t shirt was stuck to me so I just thought “right I’m getting this off.”
The Irish star also addressed rumours claiming that his neighbours called the police because of the noise he and Justin Bieber made at his London home recently. It’s all lies apparently and Horan said:
‘That’s not true, that’s a lot of lies.’
The X Factor star does like the odd crazy party though and when asked when he had last stayed up all night, he revealed:
‘The night of my birthday. I did this charity golf day and that night we stayed up until 6 O’Clock in the morning and we just had a bit of a jam session all night.’
