One Direction played their first UK gig in what feels like forever this weekend and Niall Horan at least was glad to be back on the stage.

The lads last performed together just a few weeks ago, when they wrapped up their headline American tour at the start of this month, however the Irish hunk was glad to get back to what he does best this evening, when they reunited at a concert in Liverpool’s Echo Arena.

Despite feeling a bit tired and tweeting fans saying:

‘Had a bit of a sleep, needed it bigtime! Woke up didnt where i was and couldnt understand why it was 16:45 pm haha

Niall still loved the gig and later wrote:

Liverpool you guys were amazing,hope you enjoyed the whole show! Everyone was smashin it up in there!

He added:

‘Love been back in the UK, first show since we’ve back’

Harry Styles was loving the atmosphere too, however he seemed a little offended at some of the items left backstage for him and his bandmates to amuse themselves with and posted this picture saying:

‘I know we’re young but I feel like colouring books in the dressing room is a little far.’

Thankfully staff also left some chocolate for the boys, which Horan seemed to particularly enjoy!

Niall wasn’t just a fan of the confectionery but also of some other stars on last night’s lineup and he seemed particularly in awe of Labrinth, tweeting:

‘Love doin radio shows, especially when its a sick lineup! By the way @Labrinthda1st smashed it up’
