Niall Horan has admitted that he would be open to having a sixth singer in One Direction.

The Irish star knows just who he would add the lineup too and when asked in a recent interview, who he would like to see performing with him, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik, he admitted that he would most like to work with the ‘A team’ hitmaker.

He claimed that he wants to add a “red-haired” singer with the “best voice” to X Factor band, after Ed became close to the 1D boys when he worked on their debut album ‘Up All Night’ last year.

“I’m digging red-hair man,” Niall told AndPop, adding:

“He’s got one of the best voices you’ll ever hear.”

However it seems like Ed is going to pass up the chance to join the teen sensations – for now – and he admitted that much as he loves the talented fivesome, he’s happy to stay solo for now. Sheeran said:

“We do completely different things. I think it’s cooler to hang out with them than to actually be in the band. I mean, I’ve got to where I am on my own and they got to where they are on their own and I think to add to either camp might be a mistake.”

Meanwhile, Liam Payne has thrown caution to the wind and headed out on a shopping trip, all alone. The floppy haired star may be one of the most famous people in the country right now, but that didn’t stop him from hitting a shopping centre in his hometown of Wolverhampton this week, without any security guards.

One fan was gobsmacked to see her idol walking casually through the town centre and told local newspaper the Express and Star:

“I passed him as he was walking past the Baker’s Oven. I did a double-take and walked back around the centre to get another look. I just went up to him and said, ‘Excuse me, are you from One Direction?’. He smiled and said he was and introduced himself as Liam. He was lovely, so nice and polite. When my partner Alan asked for a picture, he did not hesitate. He was really friendly.”

We are a little shocked that Payne ventured out alone in that way, after the scenes of hysteria his band caused in America, Canada and Australia in recent months.

Can you imagine what would have happened, if he had been set upon by a crowd of crazed and hormonal teenagers…..it would not have ended well!
