Liam Payne has finally been diagnosed after displaying symptoms of a serious disorder for years.

The One Direction star revealed the news on Twitter this morning, telling his fans he was glad to be able to put a name to his problem finally.

He retweeted a message from Google Facts that said:

‘“@googlefacts: Koutaliaphobia is the fear of spoons. Liam Payne from One Direction says he’s scared of spoons.”

Liam added:

‘i now know the name for it!’

Payne recently confessed that he does have a strange phobia about the scooping cutlery in an interview with OK magazine.

When asked if one of the band had a strange fear, the handsome singer admitted:

“That’s me. In restaurants, when I don’t know where the spoons have been, I can’t use them. But I can use all the other cutlery.”

The interviewer pointed out that he never knows where the knives and forks have been either but that doesn’t bother him and Liam replied: “I know, I’m a bit strange.”

Now that he knows the name for his phobia, perhaps he can get treatment for it….maybe Simon Cowell will give him Paul McKenna’s number….
