One Direction 2012: Perez Hilton says Niall Horan’s behaviour means a split is on the cards and Zayn Malik will be the first to leave
Many of you Directioners were in revolt last week, when Perez Hilton predicted that One Direction will split in the next couple of years, but that hasn’t put him off.
The celebrity blogger likes to be controversial but he insists he truly does believe that the X Factor stars are destined to break up soon and he even thinks he knows which member will be the first to go solo.
In an interview with Sugarscape Perez named Zayn Malik as the most ‘tempestuous’ member of the group and said that he believes the hunk will walk before Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan or Harry Styles.
On why he thinks the group are coming to the end of their musical journey together, Hilton explained:
“I just think they are showing these signs of trouble. Like Niall calling his fans the C word, or Zayn wearing that t shirt that says F*** You. Their fans are eight year olds and nine year olds and ten year olds. When your fans are that young I do think you have a responsibility to not use the C word, or wear a t shirt that says F you. To me they are rebelling, they’re unhappy, they’re acting out. Something is going on and you can keep it quiet and keep it under wraps for so long but eventually things are going to unravel.”
Niall hit the headlines last week of course, when a fan posted a video of him on youtube, in which he called a group of waiting supporters a ‘shower of c*nts.’ He later passed the comments off as a joke and apologised on twitter saying:
really sorry if I caused any offence. It was just banter with fans who I think of more as mates….but I understand that it’s not a word I should be using at all
Zayn caused controversy during his last week in America when he wore a t shirt with a swear word emblazoned on it.
For that reason and others, Perez thinks Malik will be the first to try to go it alone and he added:
I think they will probably all try to go solo, my pick to probably be first to leave the group is Zayn.
He – from what I hear – is the most tempestuous one and Liam is the most sensible one.
However, Perez did admit that his predictions may not be the most reliable in the business, after all he didn’t think the boys would make a dent on the American market and they went on to top the charts. He told fans:
“I never even thought they would make it in the first place in America, so what am I? Why are their fans even upset with me? They should not care what I say! Everyone is entitled to their opinion though.”
Many of you commented on Unreality TV when we first reported Perez’s predictions last week and let’s just say, very few of you agreed with the American star.

‘well. Perez is really stupid, i expect 1D to be famous further onto the years, you cant just like estimate that they’ll split up like other bands, not every band is the same.’

To be fair though, they haven’t made a dent in American music, yeah, they got a number one album, but it was quickly overtaken by another album that had already been out for like 2 years. They are more hyped up by the media, their record sales aren’t as big as you’d expect them to be
yea but their album is still in the top 10 after 16 weeks now…and hasnt sold less than 34,000 till its release, and they are teen popstars, the album that overtook them is for an older group of fans which sells more…its different :p
They’ve sold less than 3 million albums worldwide. That’s pretty poor for a boy band that has so much hype surrounding them, they should really have around that in the US alone. But they don’t.
Big time rush have sold more than 3 million albums worldwide and they are only really known in America.
All older boy bands have better sales than this and they were around in a time where internet and digital sales weren’t around.
1D are based on media hype and how many girls camp out to see them, when you actually look at the facts, they aren’t making a huge impact.
I suppose we should just ignore the fact that Big Time Rush’s album was released over a year before One Direction’s, the record-breaking nature of their debut number one, and that the album is still selling strong…? In another year, they’ll have sold far more albums of Up All Night than Big Time Rush. And their second album will be selling at record rates once more because they now have their foot firmly in the market. They probably don’t care much about what you think about their success though whilst they pick out houses in Primrose Hill and enjoy all their millions.

I mean Perez is just speaking out what he thinks. I am a directioner but I respect his opinions. I mean the boys are going through alot with hate and then their girlfriends are getting hate too. (And I don’t know why!) If they were a disney/nick band to start with, they have to be careful what they say. Because we are think instantly that they are good boys, who don’t drink, cuss and whatnot. But for being a general band, they still need to be careful. We all know that they drink and party hardcore. It’s their lives too. They are not bad guys. Maybe Zayn’s shirt was to his haters. I would wear it too.

yeah, but you have to understand that this was bound to happen at some point. as much as you want to believe that they’ll be famous forever, the truth is that their fame is going to die down pretty soon and that can sometimes spark a break up or even be the result of a break up.

ummmm i’m positive they won’t break up cause if you all remember they said one of their biggest fears was the band breaking up and they all are like brothers. And Perez compared them to the Jonas Bros. 1.they are way better then the jonas bros 2.the jonas bros were actually bros so tht probably cause some type of problem and 1D arent related in any way
Umm,I personally don’t know any 8,9, or 10 year old one direction fans, plainly because their parents won’t allow them to be within this, considering one direction is older and their fans tend to be more mature. The only fans I know are 13+ and aren’t offended or distrought that Zayn wore that shirt or Niall said that. So, I don’t think this is an act of rebel. You can think that. But they’re adults. They can do what they want, not necessarily what’s appropriate for their fans.
Honestly, I am a true Directioner, (you don’t need to quiz me I have been embarrassingly obsessed with them for years,) who happens to be 20 years old, and I have seen this happen before, considering I grew up in the boy-band era unlike the many teeny boppers who exist now (no offense girls.) Simon Cowell is working them like dogs, they have no time for friends and family, they are mobbed constantly by screaming girls and reporters, eventually they will snap and Simon is trying to get as many concert dates and as much money as he possibly can before they fall apart. The boys don’t want to play by the rules either, for instance, calling fans the “c” word, and sleeping with married older women. It’s sad and normally I’m not a fan of Perez, but I must admit I stand with him on this one.
I agree, but only to an extent. Lets face it, they are only human. They aren’t perfect, they are young, which means that they will make mistakes. No one should be judging them for their so called “bad behavior”. I am absolutely 100% positive that at least half of Directioners have said *gasp* a vulgar word. And all of us have made mistakes we face palm ourselves for now. Forgive and forget, and just cut them some freaking slack!!!
You can’t always blame their behavior on being young. There are plenty of young teens in the public eye who don’t behave this way.
or maybe their teenagers and not “rebelling”. and one direction fans are not 8 or 9 or 10 their mostly like 13 14 and older. theyve always been this innapropreate and actual fans know that and dont care. theyre like brothers and they love what they do so breaking up is not happening. they always tweet how much they love their fans and how much fun their having. also niall can swear if he wants fans that seriously took offense to that should get out of my kitchen.

Honestly,I’m a huge Directioner and adore 1D. I’m 19. We don’t know that will happen in the future but I hope they don’t split up. But it can happen. They do have a young fan base but atleast they don’t go out and say that they are role models. And they don’t have to put on this image cuz they aint a Nickelodeon/Disney group, so they have absolutly nothing to hide. If kids love them that’s cool but don’t freak out when you hear stories about for example Harrys love life, Niall loves bear, Zayn smokes, they’re cute perverted comments sometimes you know what I mean? They never said they wanted young ones to look up to them cuz they aint perfect. They are being themselves they are 18-20 years old. They cannot relate to 13 14 15 16 17 year olds. And honestly I find all this came way to fast. They are working like dogs. I think that the reason why is because you know they are all gonna hit like they’re 20′s soon and they came to fame like late you know. 2 albums in one year, back to back tours, always mobbed by fans and paparazzi. Like they can blow up one day and say you know what screw this. At the end of the day Simon Cowell is making mad mulah cuz of them you know. That’s why all of this is going so fast so they can get the most out of them while they are young. So we never know what will happen. But I will be right there till the end cuz I am a true 19 year old Directioner <3
I don’t think this is true. His reasoning behind it is really lacking.. just because Niall slipped out a word that is casually used around among Irish people or Zayn wearing a cuss word shirt? He always wears controversial/humorous shirts.. that’s just zayn’s style. That doesn’t reflect on any of his plans to get out of the band. They already have a whole set tour ahead of them, girls dying and practically going over the edge to get a ticket to one of their shows all over the world, not just the U.S & UK. After their 2013 full tour is over, it’ll be almost 2014 and more and more projects will be coming their way. They might start a TV show.. change their sound even more.. who knows. I don’t see them splitting up in the “next couple years” though.. and Perez out of all people isn’t one to make that judgement.
I think this is crazy. We all know that the boys are as close as can be, they’ve known each other for not even 2 years yet, and you would think they’ve known each other for years now. They have so much fun together, and Louis himself said he wouldn’t be able to do it if he was a solo artist. Greg, Niall’s brother, even tweeted this, “Guys all rumours r lies y would they split up ha ha ha it’s crazy they have there world tour next year and all they r so close seriously” and “They love there fans so much they really do”

Ok I’m 13 year old Directioner, and honestly what Niall said and what Zayn wore didn’t change how i think of them. C’mon cut them some slack, they,ve been working so hard! Secondly if someone who isn’t famous wore such a shirt or said that word, will you judge them? NO! So please let the boys live a little, they are teenagers, they want to have fun too. I’m a directioner but I respect this dudes views. He’s an old man whpos just saying what he thinks. They are teenage boys, and they cant help but do teenage stuff. You cant expect them to be goody goody toe shoes and not do anything wrong. In the end, Perez Hilton is just trying to create headlines and press traction for himself by piggybacking on 1D’s fame. He obviously hasn’t done any research because Niall is KNOWN to swear and it’s not him being rebellious.

No offense girls but, they should have known what to expect when signing a contract with Syco. Syco is only interested in making money, they barely care about their singers/artists. Normal people know what Syco is like, it’s a machine, if you don’t make money, you are dropped.

Perez is not wrong. I mean I have a 11 year old cousin who is almost 12 and loves One Direction. She knows all about this. She’s a little bit more mature than others.Just because you see fans from 13-18 doesn’t mean there aren’t fans younger than that. There is nothing wrong with being a little younger. It depends on the maturity level. But anyway…. They are human they are going to things that are unusual. But they need to be a little more careful. Because not only are they gonna look bad to younger fans but to older people and people who aren’t that familiar with them as well. They have been showing out a little lately . I’m not a real big fan of One Direction.
I don’t buy their posters or T-shirts or CDs or go to their concerts.
I don’t follow everything they do and every move they make.
I don’t know every single word to every one of their songs by heart.
But I am a big enough fan to know that One Direction isn’t going to break up anytime soon.
If anyone has ever seen any of the interviews/videos about/by One Direction then you would realize that their friendship is too strong to have them break up anytime soon.
