There’s a good deal of speculation around recently about the One Direction lads’ choice of tattoos – see this article about Harry Styles’ I Can’t Change ink – and the latest round of What Does It Mean was prompted by Liam Payne having the letter D tattooed on his hand.

Now, sources close to the One Direction boys reckon that the most obvious answer is that D is of course Liam’s girlfriend Danielle Peazer’s first initial, however, others have speculated that in fact, it’s a small tribute to the band…

As in, it’s just one D.

However, 1D commentators are presently eagerly awaiting any evidence that if the tattoo was for Danielle, then she might reciprocate and have an L tattooed on her hand…

And of course, last week, we reported that Zayn Malik had had a new tattoo of the word ‘ZAP’, and while many assumed it stood for Zayn and Perrie – his Little Mix girlfriend – Zayn revealed that its true meaning was more about himself and Louis Tomlinson.

He said, “Basically it stands for a society of club zappers.

“Me and Louis are captain Zappers and we have converted the rest of the boys, they are a part of it.”

However Louis and Zayn have not been awarded full membership to their special club just yet and added that although they are “part of Club Zap” they are not captains.

The boys added, “It’s like a secret society. If people want to join, you’ll be finding out some news soon.”

Oooo we’ll keep our eyes peeled for that!
