Perez Hilton may think that Zayn Malik will be the first singer to leave One Direction, but Robbie Williams thinks he’s made the wrong call.

The Take That star is convinced that Harry Styles will be the one to follow in his footsteps and leave the band to strike up a solo career.

The Candy hit maker – who took to the X Factor stage last night and wowed the audience with his saucy performance – said that he sees a lot in common between the curly haired cutie and his younger self and told Metro:

“I remember being 21, seeing George Michael, who’s ten years older, and thinking, ‘There’s a vacancy there’.

“So there must be a Harry Styles looking at me, going, ‘He’s over the hill now’.”

Meanwhile, despite the fact that Robbie has been actively supporting his nemesis Rylan Clark, Gary Barlow has been effusive with his praise of his old bandmate of late.

Barlow tweeted last night saying:

“Absolutely phenomenal performance from @robbiewilliams on #XFactor tonight #candy”

Olly Murs was a fan too and added:

“Great to catch up with @robbiewilliams tonight!! Love CANDY… Top tune!! Purchasing right now!!”

Williams got pretty involved in his X Factor visit and admitted that he was gutted to see Jade Ellis being eliminated yesterday. He wrote:

“Gutted for Jade….chin up my love don’t give up. RW xxx”
