It looks like Zayn Malik is going to need some tender loving care from his girlfriend Perrie Edwards, as seems to have injured his leg.

The One Direction singer was spotted in the airport last night, returning to the UK from America after the lads performed at the MTV VMAs on Thursday and he was hobbling through security on a pair of crutches.

Directioners seem to be blaming Justin Bieber on Malik’s injury, with rumours suggesting that the hunk hurt himself while hanging with Niall Horan at Justin’s pad after the MTV ceremony. #PartyingWithBieber has been trending on Twitter ever since the picture emerged.

Niall and Zayn were both pictured moving through LAX airport and while poor Zayn looked like he was in pain, Niall couldn’t wipe a huge silly grin off his face. Perhaps he’s joining the loved up 1D ranks, after his hot dinner date with X Factor USA judge Demi Lovato.

Or maybe he just thinks the sight of his bandmate hobbling through the scanners and security queues is more than a little amusing.

On the other hand he could be just chuffed that stars such as Britney Spears have been reaching out to congartulate the band on their big VMA win. The ‘Toxic’ hitmaker tweeted on Friday:

‘Congrats to @onedirection on their VMA wins last night! Amazing to see the opportunities @TheXFactor has created for these guys.’
