Zayn Malik has admitted that he is becoming frustrated, at constantly being kept away from his Australian fans.
The One Direction singer is currently down under with the X Factor band and they are mid way through their tour of the country, before they move on to New Zealand.
However, the mania that surrounds them and security concerns surrounding the crowds of crazed fans that surround the boys wherever they go, means that 1D have very barely got to meet and greet any of their supporters in the last week.
Zayn Malik isn’t happy with the situation and STV quote the handsome singer as complaining:
“There’s been a lot of security issues. We haven’t been able to see the fans as much as we would have liked to.”
When the boys landed at Sydney airport last week, they were banned from seeing their fans and the same happened at the Logie Awards at the weekend.
“That’s what we do: we like to go see fans when they’re outside. That’s been frustrating, but we do it for their safety, their security. We don’t want anyone to get hurt.”
In fact, for most of the time Zayn, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne have been confined to their hotel rooms, only being sneaked out now and again for some secret trips and down time.
Even their hotels aren’t totally secure, as many fans have persuaded their parents to stump up the cash to book them a room in the same establishment as 1D, in the hope that they will catch a glimpse of their idols.
One man who is hoping to ride on the back of the boys popularity if Xtra Factor presenter Olly Murs.
It was recently announced that the former X factor runner up would be supporting the 1D boys on their American tour and he admitted that he hopes to convert some of their enthusiastic fans to supporters of his this summer.
He told MTV News:
“They are causing loads of hype and hysteria everywhere they go so to be invited along it’s going to be fun.”
He added: “Hopefully I can convert them [their fans] into the Murs army and the Ollyettes so if they can be converted, that will be great.”
“There’s always room for everyone, but for me, America is just a good challenge and fingers crossed the song does well and if it does, it will be amazing!”
