Zayn Malik’s sister has taken to Twitter to set the record straight.

The One Direction singer deleted his account on the micro blogging website for two days this week, before rejoining, and blasted fans at the time for all the hateful messages they were sending his way.

When he reactivated his account he claimed he did so for his real supporters, who had been pleading with him to return.

Today his sister Doniya Malik has shed some light on the reasons behind his anger fueled actions and insisted that they weren’t driven by claims that he had cheated on Perrie Edwards or a video that appeared to show him inviting another girl back to his hotel room, but by racist tweets he received.

She told her followers:

“So am getting loads of dm’s asking if he’s okay.’

“Jus to let u all knw he’s fyn so nothing to worry about… He’s a strong boy… He just deleted it coz he was sick of reading silly things… As he was reciving hate and racist tweets about his race and religion.” [sic]

Addressing the video, that was supposedly recorded during Zayn’s last visit to America, when he was dating his Little Mix girlfriend, she added:

“It was nothing to do with the video x

“But thanks ever1 4 ur concerns bless ya u really r supportive fans… Wen I see zayn i will let him knw u all love him xx”[sic]

We feel so sorry for Zayn after reading this as being accused of being a cheat is one thing, but people attacking your race, religion and beliefs is really a step too far.

Thankfully the Directioners seem to be in uber supportive mode and Malik has been inundated with messages of support and love ever since he re-opened his Twitter account.
