One Direction appeared on Daybreak this morning and for the last segment of their three part interview, they were presented with a number of questions from their fans and Twitter followers.
Once again, it was Zayn Malik that caused the most surprise with his joking reply, when Richard Arnold asked what other names they could consider for their band.
If they weren’t named One Direction, Liam Payne would call their group ‘The Twitter Band’ which we think is a little bit boring. Niall Horan answered:
“USP – Unique selling point.”
Which was slightly more imaginative.
But it was Zayn that made us sit up and take notice, when he admitted he would change the name to ‘Status Single.’
Of course Malik isn’t single at the minute, not that we know anyway, even though he reportedly cheated on his girlfriend last week.
Courtney ‘CJ’ Webb claims that she slept with the 1D hunk at his London home eight days ago, while of course he was still dating Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards. Although those close to Zayn say the reports are untrue, he has not issued a denial and when he returned from France on Sunday, he headed straight up to Nottingham to see Perrie as she prepared for a gig in the city.
Insiders say the pair didn’t split and are working through their issues, but Zayn’s statement this morning may suggest that there are more problems than people realise.
On a lighter note though, the lads were also asked to pick a song, which would be the theme tune of their lives and lovely Harry chose ‘Wouldn’t It Be Nice’ by the Beach Boys.
They also chatted about what they liked most about their school days and for Daddy Directioner it was all about his friends. He said:
“Just the general social, playing football at lunch time.”
However, Haz must have been quite the swot, because he replied:
What do you think of the lads’ comments? Would you have expected Styles to be the swot and is Zayn’s name suggestion a good one? Leave your comments below…
