It’s been reported today that One Direction’s managers have ordered playboys Harry Styles and Zayn Malik to end their “womanizing ways” and told all the band members that they need to stop splashing out on luxuries!
The ticking came after bosses at 1D’s record label Syco reckoned that lurid stories about the boy band were tarnishing their ‘Disney’ image.
With regard to Zayn in particular, one assumes they were making reference to the scandal that ensued after waitress and stripper Courtney Webb claimed she’d slept with Zayn at his London home.
However, it’s an allegation he vigorously denied and claimed instead that Webb had “abused” his hospitality by taking pictures of his home – by way of proof that she’d been there – after he invited her in.
But as to Harry, well, barely a day goes by without an Is He Dating… (fill in a woman’s name, any woman’s name) headline.
An insider close to 1D told the Daily Star Sunday, “One Direction are having No.1s all over the world but all anyone seems to be talking about is their relationships.
“Harry and Zayn were told the focus needs to move away from which girls they’re getting intimate with and be more about the music.”
The source added, “They’ve been told to behave themselves. Label bosses reminded them they’re singers, not reality stars.”
The paper adds that the 1D boys were “given the guidance during hour-long phone calls from execs and marketing experts.”
They were told that in future, they were to inform management when they embark on romances so that a non-disclosure agreement can be drawn up.
A source from Syco said, “The Zayn scandal wasn’t the kind of attention bosses want for the band.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not, it still chips away at their squeaky-clean image.”
And as mentioned above, it seems that while they were at it, 1D’s managers decided to have a go at the boys over their spending too!
The source added, “Harry has already splashed out on a string of luxury cars and fancy gifts for friends and staff.
“Management are worried he will spend the lot if he’s not careful. He’s definitely the biggest spender in the group.
“They were all told that investing in property would be a wise move.”
Do you think it’s fair that the lads’ management can have so much say in their lives? Or are they just trying to give kindly guidance?
Let us know, but for now, here’s a reminder of 1D’s new 3D movie trailer…
