One Direction 2013: Harry Styles reveals he’s a Labour supporter! Unlucky Mr Cameron…
Fans of One Direction will know that the 1D lads, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson visited No10 Downing Street a few weeks ago, and even got Prime Minister David Cameron to have a minor role in their new Comic Relief video.
However, Harry has now let it be known that he’s actually a Labour supporter, which may come as news to Tory Cameron!
Harry revealed his political inclinations during a backstage chat with the Daily Mirror during the Brit Awards on Wednesday night.
He said, “I’m a Labour supporter. I lean to the left. I’m for the people.”
The paper adds, “Declaring himself to be left-wing puts Haz alongside fellow Labour supporting pop stars Lily Allen and Cheryl Cole.
“And only this week Paloma Faith gave a long interview to the Mirror in which she talks about being socialist.”
As to Cameron’s appearance in 1D’s Comic Relief video, after it had been filmed, Cameron tweeted a photograph of himself and the 1D standing outside No 10.
He wrote, “Enjoyed my cameo in @onedirection’s vid for @comicrelief charity single.
“Glad to help with the filming location.”
He later wished 1D “good luck” and made it official that a government donation to Comic Relief will cancel out all VAT paid on the single.
