One Direction made millions of their young fans extremely happy tonight, when they not only won their first Brit Award but also announced their first ever arena tour.

The X Factor stars received the trophy for Best British Single this evening, for which their hit song ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ was nominated. It was no shock that they triumphed, considering the result was based on a public vote and they have more fans on Twitter than almost any other music act at the minute.

As they accepted their award, the boys thanked their fans – gratuitously – and then announced that they were planning their first large scale British tour.

The boys performed all around the British Isles just a few months ago, but stuck to smaller venues as they felt they needed the experience and to leanr their craft.

Niall Horan recently admitted:

I think that’s why we did the theatres this time, to learn our craft in terms of performing. Start small and then build up in the future.

But now the boys are ready for the big time and soon they will be taking on some of the biggest venues in the UK.

Unfortunately for fans, the concerts won’t take place until next year, because in between the young hunks have to fit in an Australian visit as well as their first ever American tour which begins this month.
