One Direction confirmed as mentors for this year’s X Factor Australia! (VIDEO)

It’s been officially confirmed this morning that One Direction are to mentor acts on this year’s X Factor Australia.

Yahoo and 7TV announced the news via a video – which you can see after the jump – and a show insider also confirmed the news to the Daily Mirror, adding that judge Ronan Keating is especially keen to work with the boys, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan.

The source said, “Ronan was really keen on teaming up with the lads.

“Despite their age, they are in a great position to give help and support – they’ve been there and done it.

”They have already gone through the process and have even managed to break America…”

It’s believed that Ke$ha, Alicia Keys and Usher have been invited to assist judges Mel B, Guy Sebastian and Natalie Bassingthwaighte.

The X Factor Australia airs later this year, but for now, here’s the clip announcing the news that One Direction will join the show.

The lads are of course perfect as mentors given – as the insider said – they’ve been such a huge global success story…

However I have to wonder how they’re going to fit in any more commitments! There’s certainly no doubt they’re the hardest working band in showbiz right now.
