Fans of Robbie Williams – who has of course become a dad this week to baby girl Teddy Rose – may recall that he recently said he wishes he was a member of One Direction, given the global success of The X Factor boy band…

And it’s now official – he can!

Speaking to Capital FM about Robbie’s 1D ambition, Louis Tomlinson said, “He can join us anytime. [The] invitation is there.”

Zayn Malik added, “He can join whenever he wants – he knows that. It’s cool.”

And Liam Payne remarked, “We are actually massive fans of Robbie Williams after singing on the show with him and stuff.”

In other news, another X Factor boy band success story, JLS, have shown that they’re not above queuing up like everyone else as they joined the UK’s mania for the new iPhone…

JLS lads Aston, Marvin, JB and Oritse joined the hundreds of people who were anxiously waiting outside the Carphone Warehouse on Oxford Street, and to alleviate the tedium of queuing, Aston decided to give his fellow iPhone fans a little bit of entertainment.

Entertainmentwise reports, “The cheeky singer performed an impromptu dance routine to count down the minutes until the handset was available…

“And the lads looked rather pleased with themselves once the doors open and they’d got their hands on the iPhone 5.”

Once he’d bought his new and prized phone, JB said, “This phone is ridiculously cool. I have it in black and it looks incredible, can’t wait to start using it on 4G!”

Meanwhile The Voice coach Will.i.am remarked about iPhone 5 mania on Twitter earlier, saying, “If people stood in line to #vote like they did to get the #iphone5 america would be alright…#priorities…happy #iphone5 day…#vote”
