X Factor is on it’s way back and to celebrate ITV have released some fabulous new promo videos.

Former contestants Olly Murs, JLS, Leona Lewis and One Direction all feature in separate clips, speaking about their journey to fame since they appeared on the talent show.

The four acts are probably the most successful to have begun their careers in the competition, however we find it interesting that only one actually won the ITV show. Leona Lewis finished first in 2006, while Olly Murs and JLS finished second in their year’s and One Direction ended in third place.

In his clip Olly spoke about how much his life has changed since he entered The X Factor saying:

Even looking back to me as a kid, I’d never have thought I’d have actually been a singer now and now my song gets played on the radio and it’s all down to the X Factor that I get to do this.

Leona Lewis explained her reasons for auditioning, commenting:

I wanted to enter the X Factor because I didn’t think there had been a singer like me before. Since I was a little girl I have dreamed of being a singer, now my dream has come true.I can’t believe it’s been six years. It’s gone by in the blink of an eye.

JLS can’t believe how much things have changed for them in the last four years, since they competed against Alexandra Burke. They said:

It’s emotional to look at it now and think about the journey that we’ve had. From scraping money to rehearse in a dirty studio in London to performing on a world stage is just incredible.

Meanwhile the members of 1D spoke about why they entered the show and how their singing career started:

Niall Horan said:

“I played Oliver in a school musical when I was about 10.”

Liam Payne added:

“When I was young I used to sing Robbie Williams on karaoke.”

Harry Styles revealed:

“My friends at school were in a band and needed a singer, so I joined.”

Zayn Malik said:

“My music teacher told me to audition for X Factor when I was fifteen.”

Louis Tomlinson concluded:

“We feel like the five luckiest guys on the planet right now, we’re loving every minute.”

All the videos feature the line ‘Whose Time Is It Now?” and at the end of each clip we see some pretty glamorous shots of the judges Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh, Tulisa and Nicole Scherzinger.
