One Direction: Robbie Williams LOVES Harry Styles & Zayn Malik but not their ‘bad tattoos’
Robbie Williams has admitted that he has a lot of fondness and a warm place in his heart for the lads of One Direction.
The Take That star performed with the boys when they competed on the X Factor final back in 2010 and has kept tabs on them ever since and he revealed that he loves following their progress and journey in the music industry, even if he is slightly envious of Harry Styles’ luck with the ladies.
The Take The Crown hitmaker was chatting with the Daily Mail about the ‘Little Things’ singers, who are currently touring in America, and he was asked if he still sees the band as his young ‘showbiz brothers.’
“They are. I sang ‘She’s The One’ with them on The X Factor, so I’ve seen various stages of their growth. And I’ve been a member of One Direction, as it were. So I like seeing how they’re doing.”
The new dad continued:
“Following Harry and his many romances and being slightly envious. Checking out their new tattoos and me showing them my new tattoos. I’m in the One Direction bad tattoo club. I have bad tattoos – so do they.”
Robbie may have ‘bad tattoos’ as he puts it, but he thinks One Direction have made some much worse body art related decisions than him along the way and when asked who is winning the awful inkings competition he laughed:
“They’re winning. They’ve got some horrendous ones.”
Robbie joined Take That and found worldwide fame when he was just 16 years old, so it’s easy to see why he relates to One Direction and this stage of their career.
Robbie wonders if they will run into some trouble though, as none of the band members seem to be as sensible as his pals Gary Barlow and Jason Orange. He thinks they’re all as crazy as himself and Mark Owen and is sure that will lead to some ‘hellish moments.’
“It seems as though there’s no Jason Orange and Gary Barlow there to tell them off and give them, ironically, a bit of direction. It would seem that it’s a band of Robbies and Marks. It’s going to be fascinating to see what happens.”
“You know, it’s their journey. If they need my help I’ll be there. But I’m sure they’ll be fine. I’m sure there’s going to be some miraculous moments and some hellish moments, but that’s life.”
