One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson slams X Factor’s Christopher Maloney again – Twitter users say he’s Simon Cowell’s ‘puppet’

November 25th, 2012 by Lisa McGarry

Louis Tomlinson has been very outspoken about his feelings for Christopher Maloney this week.

The One Direction star started his barrage of abuse on Twitter last night, after the X Factor hopeful performed on the quarter final of the ITV show. He tweeted his millions of followers saying:

“Christopher Maloney showing his nasty side, no sympathy what so ever. He has to go tomorrow!”

He also retweeted a message from Simon Cowell which read:

“To everyone voting in the uk tonight. Please vote for who you believe could be a star next year. It’s in your hands.”

This evening, as Chris was voted through to next week’s semi final and Rylan Clark was eliminated, Louis jumped on his soapbox again and wrote:

“Who is gonna buy Christopher’s record ? Nobody.”

The One Direction star does have a favourite on this year’s show though and he pleaded with his fans to back James Arthur for the final, tweeting:

“Can’t wait or X Factor. Come on James !! [sic]”

“Vote @JamesArthur23 !!!!”

Many fans have accused Louis of being nothing more than Simon Cowell’s puppet and have said that he is following the music mogul’s orders, in a bid to push Maloney off the show.

A viewer named Charlie took to Twitter to blast the young star and tweeted:

“Cowell wants Chris Maloney gone. 1D are paid by Cowell. 1D want Maloney gone. Can’t see a link? Go figure.”

Another fan of the Liverpudlian wrote:

“Gosh! How sick to see all Simon’s puppet to unite just to terrorize a person, just bcoz he was mentored by Gary Barlow!”

A third viewer:

“Mr Cowell’s puppet strings are working well”

What do you think Directioners and X Factor fans? Does Louis genuinely not like Chris or is he simply following his bosses orders?

That’s exactly what entered my mind straight away Roger. I think girls only scream at them because they think 1d are so fit & hot plus they are a group of womanizers who use their flirtation to get everywhere with their “screaming fans” Sorry but I do not believe they are as popular as they are because of their vocals/talent or personality for that matter.

Exactly why “Ella Henderson” came straight into my head A, I completely understand your point there, the way this person has formed their opinion makes them sound like they’ve actually communicated or spent time living with Christopher during the x factor. Either that or a secret x factor insider trying to stir up more havoc & trouble for Chris at of course a very over-paid rate per negative comment posted. Ahahahahaha! 😀

Haha no im just an x factor fan with the same name. (Well its daniella but ella for short :))

Union J will still be massive without success in winning x factor, they are thousands times stronger, smooth & beautiful in their vocals, show much more as an actual group who are like brothers to each other & are much easier to connect with as I believe they mean the words they sing & are genuinly humble & down to earth about all of the girls who love them whearas One Direction all became egoistic, big hea*ed halfwit doeballs. Hahahaha! :)

Dear Ella, Louis calls Christopher nasty, but cant you see he´s being hypocrite?? A “celebrity” like him should give his fans good examples, mainly because they´re all teenagers and have lots of this life to learn. What he´s doing is not right for a gentleman. It is as childish as the screaming from the girls.

Hi Keira :) I wasn’t really wanting to comment on the rights or wrongs of what Louis did, rather I was just trying to make the point that he’s an opinionated person and it’s not out of character for him to tweet in this way. I wouldn’t automatically assume he’s acting at Cowell’s behest xx

Misogynistic, ageist bull. Try to make a cogent argument without merely denigrating an entire demographic that half the planet either is, has been, or will be.

*Sigh* In one ear & straight out the other as far as I’m concerned. How can you not see Max is trying to sound like a know it all? Yet you can tell when I do it? See this is what always happens to me, people always point out when I’m out of order but when someone else does the same, they get away with it & don’t face any attacks or rows about the way they’ve said things. Yes Max is entitled to his opinion, I’ve said we both need to agree to differ before, but every time I comment, he speaks down to me in a patronising & arrogant manner. That’s how it comes across to me anyway. But hey that’s ok isn’t it, he can say his opinion whatever way he likes.

Stfu you little prick. Your attempts to bring me down is absolutely hilarious, it’s unreal. But keep rambling on all you like, I certainly won’t be giving a care in the world about how you feel about it ok?

Full of myself?. Ahahahaha, WOW. What a snappy presumption to make about someone, but I take it as a massive compliment. To me being full of yourself is a great thing as you have all the confidence in the world, don’t feel insecure or anxious about yourself & have learned how to put a high amount of value on yourself. So thanks for that Gavin, really, what you said there put a massive grin on my face! Lol.

Yeah I do overall have a VERY high self esteem, has that rubbed you up the wrong way? Meh, not really bothered about that tbh, another smart little comment to be taken lightly. No I will not shut up you as*hat, do you know why? I don’t take orders & will take the time to make the most out of my FREEDOM OF SPEECH, ok? Is that crystal clear? You cannot force me to stop typing, I will say what I want, & chooae how I say it damn what everyone else wants. Now pis* off di** he*d 😀

Pretty hypocritical to call someone a keyboard warrior when the article itself is about a keyboard warrior.

  12. Sarah-Jane on November 26, 2012 at 3:08 pm

Plus being full of yourself makes you grow a thick skin to what others think about you, you learn that all that really counts in the end is what you think of yourself. What anyone else says means absolute zilch & that you shouldn’t let anyone else try to drag you down or shatter your confidence. Most resent my confidence but only because they wish that they had it in themselves, but a small majority have respected me for it. Perhaps it’s time for you to do the same insead of doing all you can to ruffle my feathers & annoy me. Hahahaha :)

I might have worded my message wrong if you understood that I was a former contestant… but I thought it was clear that I meant Louis was the former contestant!

BTW, do you realize I was actually not condoning Louis behaviour, or was it not clear enough in my post?

I was just pointing out the fact that winning the X factor doesn’t ensure success… Which has already been proved often enough.
I am just sorry that I wasted trying to tell you something that made sense.

Thanks to your general rudeness here, I now hope that this current X factor contestant -whom you love- will crash and burn, even though I have never seen, nor heard singing. You are obviously doing a much better job than Louis at leading the troups against your favourite contestant.

I agree to a certain extent. The “nasty” comment seemed a little uncled for but again it is an opinion that he hasn’t forced upon anyone. Twitter is about freedom of speach. Okay maybe he shoukd have considered the problems that could occure but that would be mainly the fans fault ratger than his. Im a teenage girl too but i wouldn’t send threats to anyone just becsuse a celebrity dislikes them. Maybe louise has more faith in his fans than that although that woukd be very naive of him.
When his comments are compared to the comments that were recently posted by tulisa and allan sugar, really louise hasn’t done anything as bad. He voiced an opinion where as tulisa actually used abusive language in a tweet to him. That is what id call an inapropriate tweet but thats just me.
