One Direction’s Zayn Malik is very proud as Perrie Edwards’ Little Mix album sells out in 13 seconds!
Little Mix have proved themselves to be increasingly popular with their teen fanbase, as they sold out of special versions of their new album in just 13 seconds this week.
The X Factor winners released 500 customisable cds of their debut album DNA through Amazon on Friday and the product was so overwhelmingly popular that it sounds out in under a quarter of a minute, leaving tens of thousands of fans disappointed.
The girls presented the albums to Amazon’s warehouse in Hemel Hempstead in person and were on the premises when the £3.99 copies were snapped up lightening fast.
They even beat a record previously set by One Direction, after signed copies of their debut album Up All Night went out of stock in less than a minute as part of the same promotion last year.
John Boumphrey, Director of Music, Film and TV at Amazon said: “The girls are ahead in the Black Friday popularity stakes.
“[But] with 500 signed copies of One Direction’s new album Take Me Home still to run as a Black Friday deal today the battle of the bands is still to be decided.”
Zayn Malik doesn’t appear to be threatened by the popularity of his girlfriend’s band though, which we think is really sweet.
The One Direction star has been dating Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards since April and earlier this month he appealed to his own fans to pick up a copy of their new record, as he shared the pre-order link on Twitter.
He accompanied the URL with a caption that read:
““Yo check this out great tune ””
