Sir Paul McCartney has revealed that he thinks the X Factor is like car crash TV but he just can’t stop watching it!

The former Beatles singer is considering performing on the show’s final in two weeks time and told The Mirror:

“They have it on the TV and when I come in the room it’s like, ‘What is this?’ The show is like a road accident – you don’t want to see it, but you do.

“You find yourself watching it each week to see who is going to be kicked out.”

On the departure of John and Edward Grimes he added: “I was surprised they didn’t stay in for longer as they were really popular,” he said. “They couldn’t really sing though – but they were watchable.”

McCartney admitted that his favourite X Factor winner is Leona Lewis. He said:

“She is a great singer and very talented.

“The show was great for launching Leona so even for that alone I suppose it is doing some good.”
