Piers Morgan says Simon Cowell will be ’seething’ about Rage Against The Machine win

Piers Morgan has admitted that he is extremely amused by Simon Cowell’s recent defeat at the hands of Rage Against The Machine.

The rock band won the race for Christmas number one against X factor winner Joe McElderry last week, a fact which Piers takes great joy in gloating about.

He told The Mirror that Cowell is probably “seething with rage” at the outcome.

“I thought it was quite funny and the fact that Simon got wound up was even funnier,” said Morgan.

“Anything that winds up Simon Cowell is good in my book. He appreciates it when someone outwits him – it doesn’t happen very often.

“It will really annoy him.”

Morgan added that Cowell “will do whatever it takes” to win the Christmas number one next year.

“The master will be back,” he said.

I don’t think so. Simon is a business man at the heart of it and still stands to gain.

I do think he will emphathise with young Joe though as he may have looked forward to getting the number one slot and when he learnt that he had failed this must have saddened him.
