Prince to perform on ‘biggest X Factor final ever’
Simon Cowell has reportedly managed to convince Prince to perform on The X Factor final this year.
Cowell has been trying to convince the ‘Raspberry Beret’ star to appear on the show for years and insiders say he had even offered him a guest judge position earlier this year.
The Daily Mail reports that the pint sized singer-songwriter will fly to London during a break in his ‘Welcome 2 America’ US concert tour in December.
A source told the newspaper: “Simon Cowell had been trying to get Prince on the show for so long, he is a massive fan and it is a big coup.
“At the moment the plans are being kept under wraps – but it will make for the biggest X Factor final ever seen.”
“Simon wanted Prince on the show any way possible. An appearance at the final will be fantastic.”
Cowell previously met Prince, when he performed ‘Satisfied’ on the season five finale of American Idol. At the time he blasted the star for being ‘selfish’, after he refused to sing with any of the contestants and only appeared on set, a few minutes before he was due to be on stage. In 2006 Simon said:
“It just tells you how selfish he is. He comes on, not a word – ‘I’m not gonna sing with anybody else, I’m not gonna say goodbye.’ Thank you for your generosity, Prince.”

I’d LOVE to see Prince on the show…but I can’t see it. Prince is one man who doesn’t court publicity nor needs any exposure that show would bring him. American Idol is one thing, X Factor another and I very much doubt the latter even appears on a radar of Prince’s “things to do”.
