Rachel Adedeji voted off X Factor 2009

Rachel Adedeji has been voted off X Factor tonight.
As the results were announced, the biggest shock of the night wasn’t that John and Edward got through to next week but that Rachel Adedeji was in the bottom two again. This time she was up against young Lloyd Daniels.
Four weeks in and Rachel has been in the bottom two three times. It’s a bad sign and when Simon Cowell was left with the deciding vote he gave the decision back to the public and created a deadlock situation.
The act that received the fewest public votes was Rachel and so the best singer on the show was sent home. It’s a bit of a travesty really, Rachel is gone whilst Lloyd the personality-less and Jedward the tuneless remain. Go figure.

Simon and the entire X-factor are bundles of shame. Life is more of honesty and fair-play. Where is the fair-paly by removing Rachel Adedeji. Whatever happens, the X-Factor cannot determine her career. Talent is by birth than training. Even the British media failed Rachel, they didn’t give her that publicity that they gave other contestants. Editorial editing and interpretative journalism has pointed out to me that she would leave somewhere, before the finals. They’ve made history again.
If Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey had started from Britain, they would have all failed. The X-Factor failed Rachel, the British media failed her by giving her very poor publicity compared to others. It was a hidden game plan. We love her. Talent is by birth more than praises.
i think the producers manipulate stuff every year. there always seems to be more exposure for some contestants than others. they seem to keep showing some peoples first auditions over and over. and every year, groups seem to get less exposure than the solo artists. its becomming a bit of a joke is the x factor. theres no way lloyd was a better singer, or even had a better personality than rachel. i think the public connection is to do with editing of programmes before the live finals even start.
i dont think simon cowells a racist i think thats ridiculous. hes backed loads of acts before who were from different ethnicities and one of his closest friends is Sinita! i do think he was a bit of a coward though but i dont understand why rachel was in the bottom two so much. i thought she would still be safe when i saw lloyd there with her. he cant sing whether he has a bad throat or not. the thing about the twins is yes, they cant sing and it is a singing competition. but they are entertaining. they are more entertaining and perform more than lloyd. i dont really understand why joe is so popular. cute dimples and thats about all.
If we are to go by the show format of previous years, I believe there are three more weeks of Judges’ saves, as by week 8 it is purely the public vote.
Then we can start blaming society, as opposed to the judges
So its back to MacDonalds then along with the other losers.
i think simon bottled it.we have been told the sing off rules were the best at that time will be voted to go on.simon makes his own rules by putting it back to the people.although i feel sorry for lloyd he was not the best singer at that time.rachel was.i do think she has one of the best voices ever on this show.my opinion of simon has gone down, since.
Lloyd should have gone home. Still the show is fast becoming a joke.
RYREKE TAKE NOTE…..the reason i took back the accusation is because as you say it is not proven..so from a legal point of view it was correct to withdraw this comment…but that still does not mean it could not be true…but it would need to be proven…..so this is why Robert Mcarthur took it back i am informed…..regarding yourself it is apparent you are perfect and dont make mistakes.. but regarding the public are not connecting is what the spin machine of the x factor is trying to achieve in getting you vunerable lot to believe it with all due respect to you that believe it…i have it on very close good authority that rachel got good votes from top leaked executives, dont fall for the old phycology…..shes not connecting with the public…… like ruth lorenzo last year this rachel is going to be signed up for DEFINATE…END OF……SIMON has his winner and has very close finacial connections to the winner its big big bucks… we are being played by the big fat cats…keep ringing in and paying all simons revenue through the phone inns….and dermot will keep saying its the public that decides… keep telling them dermot its the public that decides… brainwashing x factor…….wake up britain.. we are being milked by the simon spin machine…. he has the winner on the record label already
JEDWARD …. is as good as a previous x factor winner GERALDINE….
@alan johnson: It is easy to claim that one has “it on very close good authority that rachel got good votes from top leaked executives [sic]” in an anonymous forum. How about providing some evidence?
She did not connect with the public. The proof is that she had the least amount of votes.
It is in Cowell’s interest to have the most popular (and hopefully best) act to win, as he will have them on his label. To say there was a consipracy to get rid of Rachel because she was a threat is silly.
How can Simon justify his position as Head Judge when week after week he is too spineless to register his vote.
What a WIMP!
I HAVE NOTHING FUTHER TO SAY…THANK YOU SITE FOR LETTING MY AND MY FRIENDS VOICE THERE OPINION…GOOD ON YOU……OTHER FORUM BOARDS DLETE WHAT THEY DONT LIKE YOU SAYING SO FULL CREDIT TO THIS SITE I HAVE SAID ENOUGH…..LET OTHERS HAVE A GO NOW…THANK YOU…ALAN JOHNSON
keep your eye on stacey……shes the one…for the final…
I agree. This is a great site for a full and frank discussion.
I think it’s obvious why Simon Cowell voted for cutie pie Lloyd to stay in and not Rachel. He knows she has by far the better voice and stage presence so she posed a greater threat to the 3 singers in his group the longer she stayed in. It was a fair bet that Lloyd had more votes from the public as Rachel doesn’t seem as popular – for whatever reason. SC is nobody’s fool – it’s called tactical voting. It’s sad for her but I think Ollie, Jamie and Danyl are all better singers/performers.
We tried voting for her all night – we called about 20 times and it always said “this x factor voting line is out of use”. I’m just concerned as to how many other people had this problem. Its so annoying as a fan because it frustrates me that the point of the show is dead. Its not about making someones dream come true anymore, and even the contestants know that. At least the first few years we believed it was about the music…
bristolgal09 This above message from bristlgal09 has got it right.. the only way to stop this farse…is stop voting….dont give the revenue to the show through phone votes,,this is my belief….there needs to be an open transparant way of upgrading the voting system and the format of Mr Cowell show should be as such that the judges dont get the deciding vote…this system is corrupt….. and Mr Cowell show is taking the british public for idiots…
just look at what ian wright had to say on his show “Live From Studio Five” the x factor is a joke when it comes to the judges taking a decision… thats because ian wright expects it to be straight like he is….but the fact is i believe as it ha been said many times on this site…its all staged… whip up a storm and gain maximum phone revenue….simon keep slagging off john and edward keeps the massive phone votes coming in and laughing all the way to the bank for his show…hes a business man after all is our simon…..
I am disappointed that Simon Cowell was so unprofessional when he decided to go for the public vote. He was conscious of the statistics that would eliminate Rachel and put the talent-less Lloyd through. Simon was fully aware that Lloyd on his best day would not have been capable of out-singing Rachel, so to play on the ‘I’ve lost my voice’ card is simply pathetic. Simon has clearly opted not to vote the singers though on merit of their singing ability, and consequently is taking us the public to be gullible, and making a mockery of the whole programme. This sort of barefaced tactics will put a lot of people off watching ‘The X Factor’
correct stephen s…you put this much better than I in a nutshell as they say…
loved rachel. cant beleive she has gone.i feel like boycotting the show!!! she has a brilliant voice ,the best contestant, cant understand why people didnt vote for her,( i did) she has got far more chance of selling records than the others. i would buy it
To freak22:
Which last song are you referring to? The one she sang during Live Show 4 or the one she sang for survival? Either way it was One- U2 and Stop Crying Your Heart Out- Oasis respectively (:
The X FACTOR is no longer about voices its about circus acts
all Ted and Jed need is a Big red nose Baggy clothes and size 80 shoes Simon Cowell could be Ringmaster The Girls could Dance and Louis well( Tell Jokes ? } FARCE FARCE FARCE
Hello John de B,
Well that could be whats coming next.
I agree though the show has lost credibitlity and judges who opt out of making a decision maybes aren’t fit to judge.
Rhydian who lost a couple of years ago seems to be doing rather well.
This year I believe the judges/aka mentors made the wrong choices for contestants so impressionable pre pubesant teenagers are confused. They certainly won’t get someone like Alexandra Burke this year.
In referring to Rhydian it is obvious that the judging mentoring panel then felt able to mentor him. This year Cheryl admitted to not being able to mentor someone because of there trained background. Surely if this had been a real talent show that should not have mattered.
I question all the time the actual mentoring ability of the judging panel and would rate all of them on Zero, as they have no idea what a true music industry mentor does. For that you have to look at the arts bodies in your region to find out how mentors guide and steer wanabe artists.
All the judges are doing is working out each week who they think they can market and this had nothing to do with an individual credibility as an artist but rather more to do with being what is popular.
What is popular is mass produced, not unique, certainly does not have the X factor and at worst all of todays artists are beginning to sound the same because of American influences.
I totally agree with what Ady says (2nd Nov). The judges should do just that, judge, not be prejudiced by their own acts. Simon Cowell has gone down in my estimation in deciding not to vote. He knew that if he did, he would have had to save Rachel who is by far the most talented singer. What a shame, I thought X Factor was a talent contest.
its votes that count she lost get over it
Jim, we’ve all gotten over this farse and we’ve moved on to sth better, even Rachel.
You say it’s vote that matters, if the credibility of the mentors judge is been shaken how much more the vote counts. I’m begining to think the vote counts are actually manipulated as they wish it on a weekly basis.
When a decision is meant to be based on a judge’s approval let it remain so. And when it is meant to be determined by the public votes so should it be.
My offence is; when they request for a sing off and tag it “singing for your survival” let me be as it’s suppose to be. Simon should make and break d rules. He is so stupid for doing that. He can’t say today : “my decision will be made solely on this sing off, this is a clean slate”
and then when he feels like proving a point, he changes the survival stage to: we have to listen to the public. Meanwhile the public’s votes was spoken oven 9 acts. If Simone wants to take the verdict between 2 contestants to d public based on a new slated singing, then the phone lines should be reopened for new votes casted over the two. This is so simple. The judge in the law court gives his verdict even after hearing from the prosecutors or defenders. He always makes his decision and never throws it to the court house. Thank you
i love the fact that everyone one here had jumped to rachel’s defence – yet no one voted for her.
lloyd was not playing the ’sore thoat’ sympathy card. he genuinely has a sore throat!
i agree with jim- its votes that count. If Rachel was that good then she would have got more votes and had the lowest votes 3 times!
and the above messager is what the x factor machine wants…people that believe the voting is administered fair……..look at the history my friends… you can not have a voting system that no one can see the results of…and to make it more fair…it should not be up to the judges to play around with the bottom 2…… if the public has chosen the bottom one then go straight to the public…donmt let the judges alter this because they will tactical vote which then makes it unfair and biased…
of course cowells smitten thats why he let talented rachael go. every week we see miss cole becoming more full of herself and a bully. shes too big for her boots and treats daniel terribly . answer is stop voting for her acts let us say to cole and she said to daniel( you just dont do it for me )
i.p29 listen Please that is what we are lead to believe have we seen the results do they ever display them im sorry but am i daft ? ..its a money spinning program ….of course everyone is complaining tell me where you see the public puting rachel down some people would believe it if you told them that the pope was Protestant she is a better Singer end of Sore throat no excuse if its entertainment needed then maybe B.G.T would do Have a nice day !!

Rachel, you were great. Many people have already said what is obviously true: you have talent and your last song was fantastic; one of the best of the night. And after a number of very classy performances. So, don’t worry, the show is clearly not related to ability.
As my little protest, I won’t be watching X-factor any more. I had been enjoying it, albeit rather frustrated with the hype, but not any more. It’s on now and I don’t care. Hope to see you on stage soon!
excellent singer pity people dont appretiate good singers
W.T.F is going on!!!!….Simon bottled it again Is this a SINGING competion? Someone please tell me Am i missing Something ? Rachel( now Lucy ) funny how after all the slaggin off of the NIPPERS!! he cant seem to decide who had the BEST VOICE… UUUUGH ! Funny That !!!! IM lost..maybe he didnt want to upset LOUIS MONEY or FUNNY Money thats Business For you…… She will get a deal you see good luck LUCY !!!
Why is she finishing in ninth and not in about third or maybe even first. I always thought this was a singing competition, but if Rachel’s finishing in ninth and being beaten by two idiots called John and Edward who can’t sing, then this isn’t a singing competition, so I don’t call this a singing competition if Rachel is finishing in ninth with that much talent.
