Rachel Hylton Leaves X Factor 2008
After being in the bottom two X Factor acts for the thrid time, Rachel Hylton got voted off the show tonight.
Once again Rachel found herself at the bottom tonight, this time joined by 4 piece boyband, JLS.
It seemed a cert that Rachel would go until JLS underperformed pretty badly and Rachel sang her heart out. I agree with Cheryl when she said it was Rachel’s best performance to date.
Going on the final two performances alone, Rachel probably should have stayed, yet having been in the bottom two three times the judges couldn’t really throw her yet another lifeline.
So its goodbye to one of the most unpredictable X Factor contestants ever and make sure to check back on Unreality TV this Monday for our exclusive interview with Rachel.

Im raging rachel has gone. She is an amazing soul singer. She has gone out with a high on her survivor song. Please someone sign her.

I’m so chuffed rachel’s gone, her voice was beginning to grate on me. The vast majority of the british public do not want to watch low end of society people in their homes. This has been shown by her being in the bottom two 3 times. On one website there is two groups one pro and one anti rachel. Three weeks ago there were 1000 members of both. Tonight there is 2000 in the pro and 5000 in the anti. Rachel sould now go and get a job fund herself rather than claiming benifits we pay for. Oh and stay off out TV’s so hopefully we’ll never hear of her again. What she’ll probably do is be seen over and over turning out of celeb clubs trying to make a living out of this.

I love JLS and I’m glad they stayed. The right person definately went tonight, no matter who she was in the bottom two with. Diana Vickers though… my god! She was amazing tonight, as always. She should definately win, or atleast, like Louis said tonight, get a recording contract after the show because I’d be the first to buy any album/single of hers. Love her. But yeah, more to the point, Rachel was definately the right person to leave. Her attitude and voice sucked, lets face it, and don’t get me wrong, I’m not judging her by her past at all because I do think she deserves a second chance, but no matter how hard I tried to like her, I just couldn’t. Diana to win!

i think that rachel deserved to go out of the x factor this week because she wasn’t half as good as all the rest! she was good today but not good enough for me. if i was one of the judges, i would of sent rachel home as well.

i think that rachel should of stayed as i think that she was good. so e of the other finalists were good but i thoght that she was really good. although tonight she was canny rubbish and if i was one of the judges i would of possibly sent rachel home too!

I think Rachel was the weaker of the last two acts tonight, but I also think she is an inspiration to people who now find themselves in similar situations as Rachel was in the past. Rachel has a really good voice which perhaps needs a bit more training, but I am certain she will have a good career in music. I wish her all the best in the future. Well done for having come so far, and good luck.

I understand why the judges got rid of Rachel tonight, but the final sing off should be judged on the song, and if it had been Rachel would have stayed! she was amazing tonight, i wish her all the best for the future and can´t believe a talent like her has been sent home when Ruth is still in the competition! Hopefully Simon will sign her, and if he does i will be queuing at the doors to buy her album! Good Luck Rachel!

Rachel is a fighter, she has come back time and time again. I think some of the comments above about the british people not supporting the ‘low end of society’ are rubbish. Thats a unreal generalisation, I’m not so far bad off and I think there are plenty of good, well balanced people that will judge on the talent.
I understand why Rachel had to go today, but credit to her, she has a sence of realism about her, a rough edge that makes her interesting to watch and understand. For many Rachel will be an inspiration. I hope she stays on the stright and narrow, she won’t be signing on any more (not for long anyhow!), I’m sure she will have new opportunities come her way. Well done Rachel – what a fantastic exit, be proud!

In the sing off, in terms of sound quality IMO: JLS 2/10 vs. Rachel 8/10. It was that clear. She had soul, they …didn’t. Sadly one of the JLS singers lost his nerve so he could hardy squeak the words out and when he did it was badly out of tune. Cheryl and Simon knew this and the embarrassment/shame at doing the wrong thing (not saving her) showed on their faces a lot. Obviously a commercial decision was made as the judges are desperate to market another identikit boy-band and the next generation of consumers will lap it up. Rhydian sounded great though.

I thought Rachel had a fantastic voice, I’d buy her albums. She’s had trouble in the past and she’s been punished for it, it has nothing to do with the competition. Who honestly has never made mistakes in their life. It’s a travesty that she’s gone and Diana (the yodeller) and Eoghan (can’t sing and has to have a choir so you can’t hear him) are still there.

one thing you can always count on when we start to talk about rachel is plenty of disagreement.
more than any other contestant she is the one that divides the country, and when simon called diana marmite, he really should have called it to rachel because she really is a love her or hate her character.
me personally im on the fence. iv met her and she’s very pleasant, shes also an amazing mummy to them 2 kids, and that really endeers me to her.
but theres only really been 2 occasions when she totally pulled it off on stage, big band week she was amazing and in last nights sing off, she really showed what she’s made of, and i personally wish her well.
if you read this rachel, keep that chin up and go get em girl,i know this has been a hard time for you, but you’v had worse eh?

haha shaniqua your just a complete snob, rachel was by far the best on the show and its because of idiots like you voting for squeaky clean commercial popstars that she’s gone. Diana is CRAP!! What the hell is that all about rotating her hands in front of her face and singing out of the nose and back of her throat! And Diana was well enough to be screaming her head off at a bonfire party, X factor is a complete fix!

i really liked rachel in fact her an laura was my fav…many comments above have been very hard to even read they are so horrible but hey every1 can hav there own views…she has had a bad start in life like quite a few ppl so why r ppl hating her for that? I am so so so Happy that Idiot Rachel is off the show! I hated the sound of her voice, I don’t know how anyone heard her and thought WOW she is great! WTF!!! I have to say I was dissapointed with Simon and Cheryl for supporting her and telling her she was good when really lets face it she was so bad it made me want to dig out my ears with a needle while banging my head on a brick wall!
As a reaction to being thrown off by US she has hit out at the media for giving her a bad name but if she looks back at the last few months it is she who has given herself a bad name,she didn’t need to go telling everyone about her bad life and how she it hard done by. NO SHE’S NOT, ITS HER KIDS THAT I FEEL SORRY FOR!!!! (using them to make everyone feel sorry for her! what a COW) The thing is if you see this a a job why not do like everyone else and keep your personal life seperate! I don’t sit in an interview and go “Oh please hire me my Cat died, please pitty me and pay me millions when I don’t even deserve it!!” And yes as much as I hate to say she did well lastnight she only makes the effort when we vote he off, because she thought she had it sussed that if we felt sorry enough for her she wouldn’t have to try……. You thought wrong Love.

Rachael thought she had it made and didn’t have to try because she gave us a SOB story I didn’t buy it nither did my Boyfriend and I hated her voice and the fact that she didn’t try because she felt safe, did you not notice she only tried when she had to fight for her place? I hated her attitude and everything she stood for, she said it was the media that made her out to look bad but who was it that came on the show and sobbed that she had lost 3 kids and used to be a smack head! (I am not saying its not a good thing she is off the stuff, that is a good thing) But what the hell was she doing telling everyone, thats not something I ever feel sorry for, she should go home and take responsability fir her children, rather than avoiding them and trying to get famous, She is a SELFISH HORRIBLE person!

I hope Rachel gets a record deal as she has raw talent and although she needs some guidance in her life and career talent like that should not be wasted.
Diana has no variance to her acts, she cant dance and is only capable of doing some silly hand movements to accompany, she has a unique voice but she was the one who should have went last night

How can you say that Shaniqua is a racist. I have scrolled back up to her post and not a word of it gives me an impression she is…. You should face factc, Rachel was voted bottom eek after week by the british public because, A) Her voice sounds like she smokes 50 fags a day and has begun to grate on people. B) She has a stinking attitude, Shown by her outbursts on the show, C) she says she has turned a new leaf but maintains the gangster speak and gun symbols, and whoop whoops, D) She has committed Robbery on grannys to fund her crack habit. (The press didn’t force her to do thdid they????), E) She calls herself a mother of 4 or more, I don’t care, but I would say who ever the kids have been placed with by social services is now their mother, theres more to being a mother that just giving birth, last I looked its a longer commitment than that. F) I’ll bet she has never had an honest job inn her entire life. Not put anything into the pot but claimed any benfit going costing the tax payer tens of thousands to house her, fund her drugsher fags her booze her 40 inch wide screen TV, etc. Its her and people like her that have put this country on its knees and I am so glad that after 3 weeks of the public voting her bottom the clear message was heard by the X factor judges. rachels final song “im not leaving (your gonna love me) was outstanding. left me stunned. i can’t stop watching it on you tube. i can’t believe simons comments on the reason why he picked jls to stay. dont get me wrong i do like jls but judging on last performance with the sing off, should have gone to rachel. that as got to be the best performance of the show and i can’t see anyone being better. laura got voted off the show because ruth had a better song and ruth had been in the bottom 2 before that. im outraged that rachel as gone, we get the song we have all been waiting for and she gets booted off. the only good thing that as come of this is rachel deffinately left on a high and there are alot of people wanting to buy that final song. justice will come of this cos someone will give her a recording deal for sure and i will be one of the first to buy. eva cassidy became famous because of over the rainbow, after she died. similar sort of thing, rachel gets booted off the x factor and leaves alot of people wanting to hear more. i know its not quite the same but if you get my drift. anyway after all that, i am a diana fan, and would like her to win cos she is the only other unique contestant left.

From the moment Rachel stepped into the audition, I like many others thought that this lady could be up there with the Laurn Hall’s & Mary J Blige’s of this world, however, by the time boot camp came aroung it was obvious & sad to see exactly where the problems were going to lie! Rachel is without doubt a massive vocal talent but is still somewhat childlike & immature in her emotions. When she sorts that out & gets rid of the gang/ghetto mentality that rears its ugly head from time to time, THEN we will see what we all beleive she can be! (Leona is not a bad example to follow). X-Factor if the sing off at the end of the show is for survival, to which Rachel sang note perfect.
Why did Simon vote her off because of previous weeks, surly thats note the rule, who sings best in the last 2 is the rule.
Going by Simons and Cheryl rule, Rachel fate had already been decided before the poor cow opened her mouth!!!!

Why is every one judging Rachel on her past history , I believe everyone deserves a 2nd chance, she made mistakes in the past, she did the crime, and did the time.
Rachel has a very unique voice, which stands out from the rest, and I believe she will go very far with her singing career.

Rachel has made her mistakes, again she is not the only person to have commited a crime. She was very young then and probably involved in the wrong crowd. Isn’t it sad enough to know she has lost 3 of her children who she dearly loves. Rachel def deserves a second chance and to be honest she has got an amazing voice and is naturally talented.
Rachel is very sorry for what she has done in the past and people should let her move on and allow her to have her privacy and not judge her.

I only JUST FOUND THIS SITE ,Rachel ,the show just finished, and Iv been a fan of yours since the start, I was devastated when you went out,and could have imagined you with Mary J B. on stage ,If you won.but ,ill be p—ed if you dont get a deal . anyway girl ,dont give up and ,if your lookin 4 a guy? I love ya girl .
