Rage Against The Machine will be announcing the details of their free UK gig later this week.

The group promised fans the concert, if their single ‘Killing In The Name Of’ managed to claim the Christmas number one spot over Joe McElderry’s ‘The Climb.’

“There should be news regarding the free RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE gig late next week,” Andy Copping, Live Nation promoter and Download Festival booker wrote on his Twitter.

“Patience people,” he added. “A [Download] announcement will be forthcoming next week, all will be good, you should like what we have. Can’t wait for the doubters.”

Copping hinted that RATM will also be performing at the Download Festival this year, which takes place at Donington Park, Leicestershire from June 11 to June 13.
