Sharon Osbourne was nominated for the Most Popular Expert on TV award on last nights National television Awards.

But she was so convinced that she wouldn’t win, she stayed home and enjoyed a slap up meal of egg and chips with husband Ozzy rather than attend the ceremony.

However she did win the award beating fellow X Factor judges Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh and also celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver .

According to The Sun she said: “Not in a million years did I think I’d win. I’m sitting at home, I’ve got colour in my hair and I’m cooking egg and chips for Ozzy. It has come as a shock that people have voted for me.”
