William Hill can report that despite the news that Shayne’s father is in prison, punters continue to back him to go on and win the X Factor and if anything the revelations have stimulated punters to place bets on Shayne. Shayne the 5/2 favourite is by far William Hill’s biggest loser with Journey South their 9/2 second favourite. Former stripper Chico is a 20/1 outsider.

“We thought that these unfortunate revelations would put punters off but much to our surprise we have seen decent money for Shayne all day including a £300 bet placed at 10 am. It only goes to prove that whatever your background if you have the X factor you can go on and be successful,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.
