Shayne Ward Speaks Out About His Imprisoned Father
X Factor winner Shayne Ward has spoken out for the first time about his Father who is currently serving a prison sentence for the rape of a pensioner.
He said: “My dad is in prison but I still love him dearly. He sent me a really nice message saying good luck and that he was proud of me”"
He added: “I don’t know if I’ll visit him or not but I’ll see how it goes and how I feel. I’ve spoken to my mum and she’s fine with it.
“I knew stuff about my past would come out as soon as I got through the auditions.
“Having it hanging over me was almost the worst thing — when everything came out it was a relief, really.�

I know that Shayne has not commited any crime himself but he has some terrible family members who have commited some horrible crimes that no one should be proud off or want anyone to know of. He should not comment on these members at all unless to say they are were tehy belong. To say that he loves his dad and is thinking of seeing him must have been very hurtful to the person who was hurt by his dad - his whole attitude is wrong.

I has nothing to do wit members of the public. It is not Shayne’s fault what has happened with his family in the past and i think it is really brave of him that he is able to get over what is being said in the papers. No matter what comes out in the papers it should not change your opinion on Shayne. I love Shayne and I won’t be changing my mind just because of something in the papers.

hi i think shayne has the right attitude becasue at the end of the day his dads his family and although it might be a big mistake everyone makes them, and the message his dad gave him shows he still cares for him wether hes in prison or not so all’s i can say is keep strong shayne!

The comment from Sam that everyone makes mistakes. Sam, rape is not a mistake it is a terrible act of violence. That it was done to a pensioner too means he cant say *she lead me on* which Im sure would be his excuse if the woman had been younger. Also more than one member of his family has been on the wrong side of the law. There is a saying. that the apple never falls far from the tree. Think about it!

I really can’t understand what the person called me is talking about. No one is looking for bad in anyone but it seems to me Shaynes family are a bad lot. What will it take for you all to open your eyes? Why call yourself me, don’t you have a name? Seems to me the world is going mad. Just because Shayne won a singing competition and you fancy him this does not make it all ok. If Shayne did say “these things happen” cant you see that he isnt much different than his family. This didnt just happen it was a choice his father made, to rape a another human being. DUH! And before you say Im just being nasty to Shayne I actually supported him during the competition but now I really dont much care for him or his family because I believe he is like them.
