Simon Cowell admits he wants David Bowie to replace Tulisa Contostavlos on X Factor 2013

Simon Cowell has revealed that he would love David Bowie to join his X Factor judging panel.

It was reported this morning that the music mogul has already informed Tulisa Contostavlos that she won’t be returning to the ITV show for a third year and on his dream lineup, replacing her would be the infamous Starman.

Bowie (real name David Robert Jones) certainly has enough experience to mentor young hopefuls, after all he has been a major figure in the global music industry for over four decades, after first shooting to fame in July 1969, when his song “Space Oddity” reached the top five of the UK Singles Chart.

Simon told the Mail Online:

“I think if I could have anyone on The X Factor it would be David Bowie. It’s no secret I’ve asked him, and he hasn’t said yes yet, but I’ll keep extending the invitation. Why Bowie? He’s a legend.

“He’s a great songwriter, he has massive influence on music today and he’s 100 per cent credible. I’m a fan. Not just of his music but of him, the man. He’s cool. Most of us aren’t. Bowie is.”

It might seem like an unachievable goal, but in fairness, five years ago we never would have predicted that Steve Tyler – of Aerosmith fame – would join American Idol. It seems that these days, no one is above reality TV. Not even Britney Spears or Mariah Carey.

Considering that Bowie has already made a cartoon appearance on Spongebob Squarepants, anything is possible surely?

When Simon left the UK series back in 2011, Louis Walsh revealed that he’d love to see david coming in as a replacement and told OK!TV:

“Someone like David Bowie, Paul McCartney or Lenny Kravitz.”

Perhaps one day his wish will come true. if it’s not David though, bookies have started taking bets on who will fill Tulisa’s shoes. So far they’re naming Cheryl Cole, Sharon Osbourne, Robbie Williams and Pope Benedict. We kid you not!

Do you think Bowie would be a good X Factor judge? Leave your comments below….

He could be a good judge on the show! But he is so much better than the show and he deserves something better and a better music show if he is going to join 1. XFactor is not the show u want on your resume lol.

He’s had plenty of experience in the music world but I think he’d be so truthful about what he thought about some of the acts, they’d need to bleep the whole show. Plus, I think he’s too good to be an X Factor judge.
