Simon Cowell admits X Factor 2011 finalists were ‘crappy’ and ‘sub-standard’ – Poor Little Mix!

Simon Cowell has admitted what we already knew and said that the lineup for X Factor’s 2011 UK series was simply not good enough.

The most recent series of the ITV show was plagued with low ratings and bad reviews and the show boss revealed last week that he wasn’t a big fan of any of the finalists selected by the judges.

The 52 year old star recently returned to the UK, for this year’s Britain’s Got Talent auditions and speaking to The Daily Mail in Manchester he criticised the first series of the show, that he hadn’t been a part of.

Simon admitted that there “wasn’t enough raw talent” on show last year and when asked what he had thought of acts such as Little Mix, Marcus Collins and Amelia Lily, the music mogul said:

“We have good years and crappy years and there just wasn’t enough raw talent and personality in this year’s finals.”

He added:

“Certainly ‘The X Factor’ here felt sub-standard. It won’t happen again. The selection process has to be better.”

It has been claimed that Simon is planning yet another big shakeup of the show later this year, with at least one of the current judges being replaced. He recently revealed that he will most likely be asking Louis Walsh to return, but wasn’t so sure about the fate of Take That’s Gary barlow.

Do you agree with Simon? Was last year’s X Factor one of the worst in terms of talent? Leave your comments below.

Altho i think the 3 finalist are ok thats just it they were “just ok” the only person to emotionally move me was Craig Colton he has that raw talent and emotion he just has to have the support to make it ,i think he will be around for a long time where the others wont ,he can write his own songs and i know he will deliver the goods where again the others wont … Go Craig x

definitely get rid of gary barlow, what a boring man, kelly should go too, i really really liked her at the beginning but as the live shows went on she was awful, tulisa grew on me and i’d like to see her back and louis has to stay, he’s louis
as for last year, it was really crappy, maybe it was because s7 was so great but even the wembley final was boring

    1. I liked Tulisa and Louis as judges and mentors… not so keen on Gary and Kelly. As for the acts themselves, I liked Rhythmix/Little Mix a lot, as well as Johnny and the other seniors, Sami and Kitty, who because of the younger typical voting audience do not really have any chance of winning. Janet was okay with her breathy voice, but I did not care for any of the boys nor for Misha B or Amelia Lily. Sophie Habibis was the best of the girl singers, in my view, but her style of singing is more like that of the seniors and thus not well liked by the younger crowd, who do most of the voting. The Risk and Nu Vibe were not at all my cup of coffee… and I was not unhappy to see them leave. Groups have a problem in any case since fans need to identify with them before they can get votes, and unless they all appeal to the younger voters, they are very likely to go due to low voting numbers even if they are the best singers in the overall contestant list.

SCowell has had plenty of talent from past shows but when he isn’t making money from them he sacks them. He doesn’t know what talent is. But just watch this space tomorrow he will be in the papers talking about ones hes signed up from last year so don’t believe everything you hear or read.
This show has had its day and I hope The Voice takes over the viewing ratings. Really hate how he treats people of his shows.

    2. Also note that the judges/mentors saved Misha three times, and each time she was the individual with the lowest popular vote, so if the vote had been a deadlock by the mentors, she would have gone and Sophie would have stayed in week 4, or Kitty would have stayed in week 6 or Janet would have stayed in week 8. The mentors saved Misha because they thought she was the one act that could sell lots of records for a label, but frankly she grated on my ears, and should have gone in week 4 [in my view]. The dynamics would have changed, of course, and who knows what would have happened after that. We’ll never know if Little Mix would still have survived to win, since guessing what would have then happened can only be based on the hypothetical.

What an appalling person this guy is. His show is failing, blame the acts. He is so wrong, the show had great talent, the untalented judges encouraged the public to vote for the wrong acts. The production team and the judges indulged in manipulation, contrivance and nastiness so only the pliable and malleable arrived in the final three. Janet, with the exceptional talent she has, wasn’t allowed to show her full potential by using her guitar. Janet who can write her own songs and fought to hold on to her musical integrity and would rather leave than let it be compromised. Craig who was shoved off very early. How dare this odious man blame his failure on talented people who, much to his chagrin, he now knows he has lost. His time of enlightenment will come.

  8. cjcsPT says:

Yeah I do… specially because the best of the contestants was dropped by Kelly Rowland who had absolutely no idea about what she was doing. I hope Jade Richards returns this year and go to win the show…

  9. nick says:

Tulisa needs to go. She is the main reason why X-Factor isn’t worth watching! Can’t stand the chav! There was great talent especially: Craig, Janet and Misha! Yes, MISHA is actually good talent, get over it people!

  10. Gavin martin says:

Little mix were the best winners,
Simon cowell should not dare to say nasty stuff about little mix they were never poor winners.

  11. Max King says:

Little Mix were great, Amelia was good, she could have been an Alexandra, come back later and go on to win then, I feel she was still a bit uncooked, but definitely a raw talent.

GET RID OF KELLY AND REPLACE HER WITH DANNII

GET RID OF GARY BARLOW AND REPLACE HIM WITH A BRICK WALL, not only will the brick wall not be as nasty, but the wall will be more interesting to watch.

The only time Gary’s voice does anything good for me is when it helps cure my insomnia and sends me straight to sleep.

    He talks…. so slowly… that theres… a pause… after every two words.

  12. Debs says:

There was one star this year – Misha. Unfortunately, her chances of winning and stardom were ruined by Tulisa. The rest just didn’t cut the mustard

    • Gavin martin says:

I don’t think Misha would have won the show if louis and tulisa said stuff that misha has been bullying other people in the show. but little mix did cut the mustard.

      • Gavin martin says:

i meant was if louis and tulisa did not say misha b has been bullying other people on the show.

  13. nick says:

Tulisa is the one who needs to go. She cheapened the show a lot.

  14. Blake says:

Don’t let Tulisa go. She’s the best. Get rid of Kelly and Gary. Enough said.

  15. nick says:

Yah, leave Tulisa on and kick off Garry and Kelly because Garry and Kelly know what they are doing. Anyway, Kelly said it long back that she will be on tour, so one down and one good reason not to watch Xfactor anymore.tulisa is the worst judge ever to be on a show!

  16. B says:

Simon can hardly say that the acts have no personality, he never even met them! He has become one of the world’s many annoying people who judges other people from what they see on TV.

  17. Dan Carney says:

Now we know that kelly has been sacked as x factor judge
that is the reason the ratings went downhill last year
Gary Barlow on the other hand was a great judge he knew what he was on about
