Simon Cowell asks Estelle to replace Kelly Rowland on X Factor 2012?
Simon Cowell has reportedly decided that Estelle will be his newest X Factor judge.
The music mogul is said to have his eye on the British singer, as a replacement for American star Kelly Rowland who judged on the show last eyar.
Kelly only joined the panel last May, but it was recently reported that Cowell and show bosses wanted rid of the brunette beauty, because they felt she didn’t connect well with the audience and also, didn’t have the level of commitment needed, to star on another series.
It has also been claimed that Kelly herself doesn’t want to return to the UK for such a long period of time and wants to base her career out of her native US.
A source told The Sun: “Estelle’s name is very high on his list now and serious enquiries have been made as to her availability for auditions in May.”
In 2008, Estelle rose to fame with her collaboration with rapper Kanye West, titled “American Boy”. This song reached the top 10 in many countries worldwide, including the United States and Canada, as well as achieving number-one status on the UK Singles Chart.

Simon Cowell recently admitted that his old pal Louis Walsh was more or less guaranteed a place on the X Factor panel this year, and the assistant of the Irish star confirmed the news yesterday.
Gary Barlow is also said to be returning, after negotiating a massive pay hike, though he will want to make sure he keeps enough time free for his expanding family, after he and wife Dawn recently announced that they are expecting their fourth child.
Tulisa Contostavlos is also said to be keen for an X Factor comeback, after winning last year with Little Mix.

Don’t do it Estelle!
Oh dear no way.
What a downgrade, Estelle has only had one hit song.
I know stephanie and also kelly mentioned in an interview recently that she would like to do x factor again. Stephanie they had very similar headlines when dannii was on the show and they were replacing her with one person or another every year she was there. dannii always signed her contract at the last minute and i have a feeling it might be the same situation with kelly, at least i hope so.
Bye bye Kelly, and as for the comment about Estelle being a downgrade – she’s too bloody good for X Factor!!!! Shows how much people on here know eh?
The real travesty of this story though, is the massive pay rise for boring Barlow, the man who sent Cocozza through to the final 12 – he should be kicked off too.
Claire, you’ve got a point, there’s always rumours about judges leaving and so and so, I guess Kelly is an easy target to make up rumours with this year, as to her faith as a judge because she’s based in the states and people might think she doesn’t want to remain a judge in the Uk or join X Factor US instead, if she does go, it could be in her own accord but no doubt the media will spin it like she got the axe.
I like Kelly, so I hope she stays, if not then I might just give this year a miss.
Your right Claire and I think Kelly is an easy target for rumours on who’s going and who’s staying only because she’s based in the states, I hope she stays but she may well decide to leave on her own accord but no doubt the media will spin it like she got the axe.
Kelly might join the X Factor USA, who knows but I don’t expect these rumours to die down until auditions start again, it would be a shame to lose her though.
It would definitely be a shame to lose Kelly. What is Tulisa getting a pay rise for? Is it for bullying contestants? What does Louis real do on XFactor? I thought Gary was good last year, but why are they all getting hefty pay rises? Ain’t they being paid too much already? Well, if I was Estelle I would decline the offer. She may nt connect with the public either seing some of the comments already. Good luck to Kelly Rowland who I think was actually brilliant last year. I only watched the show because of her, and so did a few of my friends.
I’m definitely not a fan of Tulisa but at least she was the winning mentor – so out of all the judges, she’s the one who deserves a pay rise, definitely not Barlow, he was awful imo. He may be a brilliant songwriter but he lacks charisma, he’s totally wooden.
X Factor 2011 judging panel was, in my opinion, the worst ever. It needs a total revamp, otherwise more and more people will switch off.
Kelly actually had a lot of catch phrases that saved the judges seats from being a bore…I always waited for what she had to say…but raising someone(estelle) from the dead(oblivion) to come judge xfactor,I’d rather go with Alexandra Burke.
