On last night’s Xtra Factor, Simon Cowell admitted that he is considering implementing changes to how the judges and mentors work next year.

A caller suggested that the judges should take responsibility for an act from each X Factor category. So each judge would be responsible for a young male, young female, group and over 25 act.

After Simon took the call Louis Walsh said: “I think it is a very good idea… That’s a very good idea, Simon what do you think to that idea?”

Dannii said that Cheryl had made the suggestion “ages ago” and Simon Cowell admitted that he was considering it.

Cheryl added: “I think it’s exciting”.

Personally we would rather see the American Idol model, where the judges have no stake in any category and act impartially, according to how each singer performs. We’d love to hear your thoughts on the subject below.
