Simon Cowell & Dermot O’Leary to finish on The X Factor tonight?
Simon Cowell and Dermot O’Leary are reportedly gearing up for their last ever appearance on the UK X Factor this evening.
As the 2010 series of the ITV talent competition comes to an end, in his head Cowell has already moved onto pastures new and is busily planning his new American version of the show.
Insiders say that the music mogul has no intention of fronting the UK series in 2011 and plans to appoint a new judge to take his place. He may also need to find a new presenter, as pals of current host Dermot O’Leary say that if he doesn’t land the gig to front the Stateside series, he will step down and turn his back on four years on the British show.
A source told The Daily Mail:
‘Simon is not coming back next year.
‘Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh will return, so the viewers will have a sense of continuity, but Simon’s not going to be on the show.’
Speaking about changes to The X Factor in 2011, Simon said:
‘Something’s going to happen in the next three or four months that’s going to alter my decision next year.
‘I have actually enjoyed doing this series more than any other because it’s been controversial, and that stops it being boring.
‘As soon as you get bored, the audience get bored and there’s no show. Simple as that.’
It is not yet clear if Cheryl Cole will return to X Factor UK next year, or whether she will stick with her buddy Cowell and concentrate all her efforts on America……..watch this space!

MAKE KONNIE THE NEW DERMOT. She would make X-Factor comedy gold.
You’re JOKING right? She’s terrible. I don’t know what they have to do, but get Holly back!! I can’t imagine anyone but Dermot and Holly hosting. Konnie’s terrible and the previous hosts of X factor and Xtra factor were terrible.
I will miss Dermot and X Factor without Simon is dead.
aaw i love dermot =( but i spose he’s been getting sucked up simons bum aswell (surprised there is any space up there with cheryl already there) i dont know if it would be the end of the xfactor without simon and cheryl, they are my least favourite judges. spose it depends on who replaces them.
Hope Cheryl Cole isn’t a judge on x-factor 2011 and is replaced. Bring back Holly – much better than Konnie.
What is Simon thinking. This show wouldnt be a show without Simon. I like it when him and louis fight on the live shows. Its fun. Its just not gonna fun anymore. He better not take Cheryl cole with him she is my favourite judge but I herd already that Cheryl will be moving to the american version lets just see wats gonna happend. wonnder who the replacement is gonna be. I agree – bring back Holly!!! Not sure what it would be like without Simon though – Cant stand James Corden – if he gets on it then I think I’ll turn over. (before he starts shaking his fat belly about – YUKKKK)
O no without Simon there is no point in watching it! And Dermot come on! It would be like Big Brother without Davina! or like Hale and Pace without the Pace! Ronni es without the two! Will not work! Come on Simon ! The British public need you! Stay with us please! You might get a knighthood!
i doubt if simon will be missed ,he his a big-headed egotistical pompous creature and very hypocritical . the show will get on very well without him, just hope he takes cheryl cole with him.
