Simon Cowell has had a heavy workload this week

Due to the recent auto-tuning scandal, the music mogul was forced move forward an episode of The X Factor, due to air in September, and put it out on ITV last night. Then, the day before the show was due to hit our screens, revelations that one of his bootcampers is a prostitute, meant that the show had to be re-edited once more.

The Sun revealed that Snog Marry Avoid contestant Chloe Mafia had made it past her initial X Factor audition. She sang ‘Wishing On A Star’ and even though she messed up her song, the judges awarded her a pass to the next stage of the competition. However, the 20 year old mum of one is also reportedly a call girl and on hearing that news, Simon edited her performance from last night’s show.

For reasons, as yet unknown, he also removed twins ‘Twem’ (Samir and Mehdi) and punching pals Abby Johnston and Lisa Parker from the show and replaced them with singing painter Matt Cardle.

An X Factor source told The Sun: “This is normally the slickest show in town.

“But the last week has just been one crisis after another. Simon’s been here until 1am every day trying to sort it all out. He is busy finalising his plans for American X Factor.

“It’s a massive, massive deal for Simon – and suddenly he’s got people calling him a faker. This is incredibly ­unwelcome. Viewers in Britain are not at all keen on any ­manipulation of singers’ voices, but in America the attitude is even more hard-line.”

The source went on: “Simon is working round the clock to ensure that viewers’ ­confidence in X Factor is ­reaffirmed.

“He is determined that this will be the best and most-watched series of X Factor yet.”
